Both B3 and Octo have a history of driving innovation on behalf of their customers. B3’s Digital Transformation and Modernization (DTM) lab will augment Octo’s recently expanded oLabs™ environment. Housed in a 14,000 square foot facility in Reston, Virginia, oLabs is one of the largest D.C. metro area centers dedicated to Federal Government R&D, containing more than 15 petaflops of AI computer power and two petabytes of FlashBlade storage available to existing customers – and now the VA – to power emerging technology research and product development to improve mission effectiveness. In so doing, we also wanted to involve our visitors by providing them with an opportunity to take a direct role in the Octolab project. Our visitors can request their own intelligence experiments for us to conduct with the octopuses. This means that if a visitor has a question regarding the intelligence of the octopus that we have not answered in our question and answer section or in one of our previous experiments, they can submit an idea for an experiment themselves. B3’s leadership will remain with the company and expand Octo’s Health business to drive continued growth and customer success. From a parents point of view I love the fact that everything can fit neatly within the Octo-lab which makes tidying a breeze. From a kids point of view: As we have mentioned, our octopuses are official members of the team. At no time would we place them in any sort of situation that would put them at risk or that would bring them discomfort — much less pain.This book was the one which started the success of the Octonauts series. According to the review on Good Reads, much like the first book, this second book mainly leans towards new adventures and friendship as its theme. From the beginning, we here at Octolab wanted to be more than just a repository of information related to the octopus. We wanted to make learning about these marvelous cephalopods an experience that would resonate with our audience. At Octolab we adore the octopus. All of our experiments are limited to the study and analysis of the behavior and cognitive functions of the octopus. They are NOT designed to conduct stress tests. They DO NOT incorporate pain stimuli. Think of the Octolab experiments as those that are conducted by child behavioralists. The variables are set and the children are observed to obtain the results from a hidden camera or two-way mirror. The same is true with our octopus experiments. Captain Barnacles (the polar bear) and Kwazii (the cat) asked the audience to perform actions as part of their ‘training’ and amazingly no one was hurt as the huge crowd jumped and shifted about. There were some exceedingly well behaved children out in Derby yesterday 🙂 Overall I don’t think any Octonauts fan would be disappointed if Santa dropped some of these down the chimney for Christmas. To accomplish this we structured the project to revolve around a continuous series of observational experiments designed to enhance our understanding of the octopus — to expand what we know about their intelligence and behavior. This way, the whole community can benefit from each other’s curiosity and admiration for the octopus. — We Really Care About Our Octopuses —Octolab is an organization dedicated to furthering the knowledge that all people have of the octopus. This includes everybody — from youngsters to adults; from novice enthusiasts to recognized marine biologists and everyone in between. Explore, Rescue, Protect! These undersea adventurers are popular with children all over the world and thanks to their new range of toys from Fisher Price they’re bound to feature heavily on Christmas Lists. We were sent a few items from the range to review and today I’m sharing our thoughts. Instead, the octopuses that are part of the Octolab team (yes, we do see them as official team members) have been given a new lease on life. No longer do they have to worry about being caught by fishermen, no longer do they have to contend with predators, no longer do they face the potential of becoming part of someone’s main course. Our octopuses now reside in large tanks designed to replicate a habitat that they are used to and enjoy. A habitat that keeps them happy and healthy.
