The project also reached number six on the Official New Zealand Music Chart, [37] where it was eventually certified platinum. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. Del Rey released her second studio album and major-label debut Born to Die in January 2012 by Interscope Records, Polydor Records, and Stranger Records.

Blue Velvet" is a cover version of the 1950s track written by Bernie Wayne and Lee Moris, and was interpreted by Chiola as a "romantic tribute of lovelorn and loss. Likely to be a more recent repress than the 2017 deluxe edition release of Born To Die, due to updated runouts in sides C and D. The Paradise Edition performed moderately on international record charts in Europe, where it charted separately from Born to Die and Paradise. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. It's like seven new songs that kind of put a period on the statement that I was making when I was making the record. The follow-up track " American" heavily integrates Americana references in its lyrics, and employs minimalist piano and string instrumentation that Sian Watson from Associated Press felt placed the "smoky, effortless vocals" at the forefront of the song. That said, I've had collectors purchase this package for its bonus tracks and, to be fair, that's what's unique about this release.

The newly recorded material employs more profane language than the original record, particularly with descriptions of sexual encounters. Video Games suffers terribly, however, in two ways: There are some momentary and very noticable distortions with strong sibbilance a handful of times which has also been reported on other versions, so I'm quite certain this is a mastering problem. I just received mine and it does not contain Born to Die, only Paradise and a slipcase for the original LP. Del Rey unveiled its cover in September, in which she is photographed in a beige-colored one-piece swimsuit standing before a tropical background, and elaborated that the reissue would contain the fifteen-track deluxe version of Born to Die and nine previously unreleased songs.

There is still baked in crackle lasting for about 5 seconds of Video Games, otherwise, my copy is pretty immaculate: clean, flat, and centred, as one would hope. I reckon this is also due to the record being delivered in an actual poly-lined sleeve instead of the crappy paper or cardboard sleeves that usually leaves a lot of fragments and dirt on the record.

Still, when listening on large speakers, it sounds great, and on headphones, only two of the tracks are severely affected, so overall I'd rate the quality of this 4/5. Type Lana Del Rey in the box under the ARTISTA column headingand Born To Die: The Paradise Edition in the box under the TÍTULO column heading. The eight tracks appended on The Paradise Edition exemplify a "cinematic" musical style first introduced through Born to Die, and incorporates frequent electric guitar and piano instrumentation like the preceding record. I do not have the US vinyl to compare to; I can imagine how cramming this album into a single LP would negatively affect the sound. The newly recorded material was simultaneously made available on the standalone extended play Paradise (2012).As someone humorously pointed out below, it sounds like Body Electric was mastered after the kids went to bed, and indeed, the RMS sound volume plummets by something like 5db from Cola to Body Electric. I think this is the version I have, but I'm not sure, because the matrix numbers does not match those listed above (my C-side has 010417121-A-4 and JI etched in it, and D-side has 010417121-B-3), it was bought in Europe spring 2023 and has the "Made in Poland" stamp on the back. Now this copy did have a lot more popping, but i think its because it had paper on it fro the sleeve. I don't see what the confusion is aside from the two releases sharing a barcode but there are two seperate listings on discogs. It charted at number four on the Polish Albums Chart, [28] and respectively reached numbers 6 and 15 on the Belgian Ultratop charts in Flanders and Wallonia.
