First of all, i got this under the assumption this is basically the AE-5 on an external enclosure, but, apparently that is not the case? I'm getting conflicting opinions on google, and i'm still not sure whether getting the internal card would have been a better alternative. The overall impression G6 left on me is that is sounds clean, much more detailed than the on-board sound cards of my laptop and desktop PC. Everything is enhanced to the next level. Now, G6 is a different type of DAC and headphone amp compared to regular units in so many ways that I can’t wait to tell you more.

There is also an optical input that can work as an analog input. Use this one in case you want to connect your XBox One or PlayStation 4 to the G6. I launched AC Odyssey and with a shaking hand pressed the SBX (Sound Blaster X) button to enable the internal DSP engine. To my surprise the sound wasn’t muddier or something like that, I felt that it sounded bigger and I could easier hear all the sounds around the world. Pressing the Crosshair (Scout Mode) button was a funny experience, it sounded weird at first, with it enabled I heard all the NPC talk around much easier, it is almost too distracting at times. I hear them talking closer to me and in general the mid tones and the treble is somewhat enhanced.

For example, when I played a bit of Diablo III both buttons distracted me too much, I wanted just a bit of both so turning the Scout Mode and SBX off, was a refreshing experience. I would still get some DSP enhancements but to a much smaller degree. If you would like to completely disable all DSP processing, a long press on the Scout Mode button puts the G6 intro the Direct Mode, once the button is flashing means all the DSP is turned-off. You can play with all these modes to see which one suits you better. After I engaged Direct Mode, everything changed to a much better vibe and finally I could listen to my favorite tunes.

The USB sound card works with PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and combines a virtual 7.1 32-bit / 384 kHz, 130 dB USB Digital Audio Converter (DAC) with our awesome Xamp discrete headphone amplifier for incredibly detailed audio. It also boasts Dolby Digital decoding, virtual 7.1 surround sound, game-voice volume balancing, Scout Mode, and Sound Blaster's 30 year legacy of impressive sound enhancement technologies. All this comes together to make the Sound BlasterX G6 an incredibleaudio upgrade for both gamers and music and audio enthusiasts.

It must be said that the physical buttons on the G6 will just control a small portion of what can really be achieved with it. What it makes so different compared to pure audiophile DAC and headphone amp units is that the Sound BlasterX G6 is also having a DSP inside and is doing some additional processing to make all games sounding surreal and enveloping the listener or dare I say the gamer. We noticed an audio boost immediately once we fired up the G6 – thanks, especially, to a Creative technology called Scout Mode that enhances the ambient noises and not only add some character to a game, but also help determine a course of action. Footsteps or voices come through a little clearer and louder, offering a tactical advantage when moving or hiding to avoid and ambush enemies – and all of that is done without also cranking up the volume. What was really unexpected and quite interesting really: the equalizer pencil. You have a straight line that represents the frequency response and by just drawing a frequency response curve over it will set the EQ according to your drawing. Underneath the EQ curve can be seen how much bass or treble is being added or subtracted. Disclaimer: Sound BlasterX G6 was sent to us free of charge in exchange for our honest opinion. We thank team Creative Labs for this opportunity.

bit / 44.1, 48.0, 88.2, 96.0, 176.4, 192.0 kHz Rozlišení nahrávání Vstup mikrofonu: 16 / 24 / 32-bit / 44.1, 48.0, 88.2, 96.0, 176.4, 192.0 kHz FiiO F5 PRO is bigger, it is wall-powered, its body is entirely made from sand-blasted aluminum, it is also destined for the audiophile community, but can be used while gaming. Nevertheless, we would say it’s an acquired taste. The algorithms, as good as they are, don’t necessarily adjust volume levels for different sounds. For instance, you may be in a quiet area in a game, only for the music to jolt your ears once something dramatic happens. That’s not entirely Creative’s fault, mind you, since they don’t engineer any of the games, but some additional work would be good there. Playing Spider-Man on PS4, we felt like swinging through New York was every bit an audible concrete jungle. The way a train passed through in Battlefield I was awesome. Games with great music, like that one or the Shadow of the Colossus remake, only benefitted from the additional boost. What was really unexpected for me is that this small bus-powered device is capable of driving even hard to drive headphones. The bottom of the G6 is slightly rubberized, which makes it somewhat slip-resistant. It’s not especially grippy, so it still tended to slide around a bit on my desktop. And if you’re a fan of LED lighting, there’s something here for you – the Sound BlasterX logo illuminates (and can be programmed via the desktop software through the full range of 16.8 million colors). To be perfectly honest, I had modest expectations – I was expecting a subtle improvement in sound quality that might require a fair bit of A/B testing to notice. That was not the case.

It also has an optical out, also works as a line-out. Use this one if you want to pass your digital signal to a better source (to a better DAC and headphone amp combo) or if you want to use some powered speakers. bit / 44.1, 48.0, 88.2, 96.0, 176.4, 192.0 kHz Rozlišení nahrávání Mikrofonitulo: 16 / 24 / 32-bit / 44.1, 48.0, 88.2, 96.0, 176.4, 192.0 kHz Overall for someone looking for a gaming sound card with good audio performance, they have it in Sound Blaster G6. Once Direct Mode is engaged, you can even listen to high-resolution 32-bit 384kHz content, Tidal Masters worked good with it and it sounded pretty good as well. OK guys, confession time: Yes, I game myself time and time again. I’m mostly a single-player type of gamer, searching for nice and captivating stories. I am a hardcore media consumer after all: music, movies or games is what I consume and I’m trying to find myself in those if world is giving me the middle finger. On a PC, it’s a little different because of the Sound Blaster Connect desktop app, which offers greater customization. It would've been nice to carry some of the settings from the PC to the console however, because the G6 doesn’t have internal memory to store settings like that, we weren’t able to replicate any of the custom features when playing on a console. title=More%20Expert%20Tech%20Roundups&type=articles%2Cvideos&tags=tech-roundup&count=6&columnCount=6&theme=article NEW UPDATE! We've updated the Sound BlasterX G6 with our latest Sound Blaster Command software so that you can have access to all our latest industry-leading audio processing and technologies, all in one place. Just for giggles I decided to listen to few tunes with all 3 modes of the DSP engine enabled and not a single one was passable for music. I know my tunes really well and when something sounds Off I either turn the damn thing off or I just don’t listen to music at all.
