My existing trimmer is very, very old and a health and safety disaster but when edge-trimming it is possible to look directly down onto the spinning cutter (not to be recommended). I have several Bosch tools and already own two batteries; used on a very large lawn inset with trees and fairly long grass I found the 1st battery lasted about 50 mins and the second completed the job about 45 mins later. If you have a large area to do I would seriously advise considering 2 batteries.
