Description

The lightest mouse from Razer, the Viper Mini, is a mouse that doesn’t rely on the honeycomb pattern to achieve its lightweight. There are some concerns with quality control of the shell and gaps, the buttons and scroll wheel have shown some wobble. I ended up doing a couple of mods on the mouse to see how it would change. You can open up the mouse via the bottom two feet and removing two T5 screws, so the mods I did include:

Moving onto today and it's still mostly the same but the button wobble got a bit worse. I ended up having to do some mods to maintain it in a better state, but that led to its own issues (see Mods section for more details). I have no idea how the internals of a mouse work or how the sensor works... but if I had to guess, I feel like the sensor isn't getting enough power to it sometimes? Maybe the battery they use is just cheap or something and the sensor isn't receiving the power it needs properly. I don't know, but I don't have this issue on any other wireless mouse I own. This is pure speculation however as I said, I don't really know how it works. I should also note that I keep my mouse turned on all the time and I charge my mouse every single day when I go to bed at night so it shouldn't be a low battery issue. https://preview.redd.it/3z4uc65c53j81.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ff5f652d0ca5bdbd8750de94aef6a59482222d0 The cable, sensor and build quality are all there and offer a fantastic value given the Skoll Mini’s budget pricing.

There are some quality control concerns with Finalmice, some people have had scroll wheels break or have creaky weak points in the shell. The sensor also only runs at 500 hz. The mouse itself has a sensor that only runs at 500 hz.

Previous mice repertoire includes: G305, GPX, Razer Viper Ultimate, Delux M800, Deathadder Elite, Starlight-12 (S)

I'm not going to give the shape a rating because people will know their own preference. I fingertip and compared to the Delux M800, it has a much more flat shape similar to the Razer Viper Ultimate. I definitely like this mouse more than the RVU, both for weight, feeling, and shape for me. In comparison to the other mice I've tried, I'd say it's my second favorite fingertip shape to date only beaten by the G305. Nothing special to write home about, though. Been using the Starlight-12 (M) Phantom as my main mouse for the last 3 months for incredibly extensive use including gaming and school, likely around 30+ hours of use per week. I'm also new to reviewing things and am only slightly into gaming mice hobby, so sorry if this ends up being an iffy review. The Starlight's were my first Finalmouse products, and spoilers, almost definitely my last. I am also not a rage gamer either.. I take care of my peripherals well and I do not slam my mouse down or throw it around or anything.. so some of these cons are really just due to bad build quality and not from personal usage.

First one is kinda more subjective so I will start with it.. I'd prefer mice to have smooth sides and not with holes. I'd gladly trade a couple grams of weight for smooth sides than having to grip a mouse with holes on the side. Just not very comfortable. Some people don't mind it, and this is mostly subjective, but it is a con for me. Even after using a GPX, this mouse felt fantastic in-hand. The weight is incredibly light and gives you amazing control over your mouse. In addition to its size, with fingertip, the weight is almost ideal at ~49g so it's not too light you forget it's there but light enough that adjustments all come naturally. Opinions about the weight have not changed since, but I will say you'll only feel a massive weight change when comparing to mice about 65g or above. The Razer DeathAdder Mini brings the much loved ergonomic shape to a smaller handed audience as the OG is a fairly large mouse. The shape is pretty good. This is very subjective but I believe most claw grip players would enjoy this shape as it is fairly comfortable for that grip style. Keep in mind this is the medium size, I have not used the small. I would say that the size of the medium is good for me with medium sized hands, the small would be hand-cramp inducing for me for sure.
