Chronic use may cause pigmentation of the intestinal mucosa (pseudomelanosis coli), which usually recedes when the patient stops taking the preparation.

Constipation is extremely common and affects people at all stages of life. It can usually be cured at home using medication such as Senokot Liquid for constipation, or changes to diet and lifestyle. Taking more than your recommended dose will not make this product more effective, and may cause serious side effects.
