I apologise that this has turned into a bit of an essay, but any expert help you could pass on to me would be greatly appreciated. But can I bypass the wiring of the danfoss to just make the CH on all the time, so it can then be left switched off on the danfoss? Or does that confuse it?!

Relieved to see that this programmer is still available but thanks to coronavirus getting a tradesman to fit one could be a problem as we are in isolation due to age.

One of the key features of the FP715Si is its multiple switching options. This thermostat can control both the heating and hot water systems, providing convenience and flexibility. This allows users to manage their overall energy consumption effectively. Thanks for your considered responses. I have the manual but when I follow the instructions to reset the date and time, it just doesn't work! So, I have just come to the conclusion that updating it makes sense.

The Danfoss FP720 (replacing the FP715Si) two-channel full programmer has separate heating and hot water outputs operating on completely independent time bases for maximum flexibility. Furthermore, the FP715Si is equipped with temperature compensation technology. This means that it can automatically adapt to changes in room temperature, ensuring consistent and comfortable heating throughout the day. At the point of installation, you can choose to have either a 7-day, 24 hour, or 5 day/2-day operation. You can then set 2 or 3 on/off points for each day, enabling you to make your central heating work to your schedule. Additionally, the programmer can be set for either ‘pumped’ or ‘gravity’ hot water. So, from what I am gathering, I can buy pretty much buy any 2-channel CH/HW controller, but need to get a good sparky in to do the necessary wiring and installation. Can I confirm if you all agree that this is correct and a sensible approach?Although your likely not considering swapping all TRV heads to linked heads now, before selecting a replacement you need to consider what you may want to do in the future. If however as likely it switches 230 volt, then you can fit a system which can link to TRV's in the future allowing you to control each room independently. The FP715Si features a user-friendly interface and a clear digital display, making it simple to program and operate. With its intuitive navigation, users can easily set up specific heating schedules and temperature levels for different times of the day. HOWEVER. We can offer you an alternative model that WILL FIT the FP715SIwithout an Electrician and without paying through the NOSE. This is what this listing is Selling - please get in touch if you are unsure It seems the Drayton Wiser TRV head is about the best, with algorithms to work out how long it takes to heat a room without over shooting, and the base has the option to work with OpenTherm with an add on module. Since I use oil OpenTherm does not interest me.
