Although Blur had long been recognised as one of the premier bands responsible for the reinvigoration of Britpop in the 1990s, it is 1994's Parklife that truly provided the template for the entire movement. that said, it's clearly cut from the original CD master, and while it sounds good, the 2LP remaster sounds much better.

La portada está un tanto más oscura que la versión original y la foto del grupo en la contratapa es un tanto pixeleada.

Parklife" is an irreplaceable slice of British pop culture that solidified Blur's place in music history. The vinyl release of Blur's "Parklife" provides a superior listening experience as it accentuates the depth and warmth of the band's rich, textured soundscapes. But the vinyl release presented the album in an entirely new light, wowing me with its enriched sound and warmth. Along with those first two Oasis LPs and Pulp's ‘Different Class’ it is generally vaunted as one of Britpop’s definitive albums, and heard today it certainly acts like a capsule from a different era, one where doing a passable Cockney accent was a passport to a whole career. At a time when Oasis were a ping the sounds of their pub-rock heroes on Definitely Maybe, Blur drew from the legacy of the Kinks and Small Faces to create an album that's as English as a rainy Sunday in front of the gas fire. Parklife is the most interesting, however, as the third CD contains 10 unreleased demos from the 1993 sessions, including an early take of “To The End” with Elastica’s Justine Frischmann –Damon Albarn’s then-partner – whispering in French on backing vocals. Double LP on heavyweight 180 gram, audiophile vinyl and housed in a replica of the original sleeve artwork. If anyone can point me towards this version or at least the closest thing to it, I would be very appreciative. A routinely great artist, much of Sufjan's universal appeal comes from his skills as a gifted narrator, pairing personal musings on love and devotion with commentary on American culture, whilst welding folk and electronica, the ambient and existential.

From your date of purchase your product is warranted against faulty materials or workmanship for a period of 12 months. Seriously though, 'Parklife' actually is good - songs like ‘To The End’ and ‘End Of A Century’ show off genuine songwriting chops, and who could resist shaking leg to ‘Girls And Boys’ when it comes on at the indie disco?Witty, ironic and irreverent, Parklife remains one of those rare albums that sum up a specific place and time (Britain in the mid-1990s). Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. Light creasing and wear to sleeve and insert, record has a couple of light isolated scratches but overall just has light crackle and noise at times.
