grit is pretty harsh--I had purchased a "Pro" platen to experiment with and roughed it up "just a bit" with 180 grit using a random orbit sander. I eventually took an angle grinder to the play to rough up the surface but it only made a marginal difference.These are especially great if you are printing small parts such as multi-piece miniatures and their separate head etc. Sandblasted surface with stronger adhesion is not easy to fall off during printing for a better printing result. And in the meantime, you can start a new print on an additional plate to increase productivity greatly.
