Fairly little impacted by the disappearance of Will Byers although she knows her family since Will and her brother Mike are very friends, she becomes in spite of herself involved in the intrigue while her best friend Barbara disappears in her turn. Worried enough, Nancy turns little by little to Jonathan Byers, Will's brother, and the two protagonists carry out a parallel investigation to that of the police and the young boys (Mike, Lucas and Dustin). They discover on one of Jonathan's pictures a suspicious form that gives a glimpse of Demogorgon and understand that the monster has kidnapped Barbara and that he is probably linked to Will's disappearance too... They then go into the woods to try to flush him out at the risk of their lives. It almost goes very badly for Nancy who crosses into the world upside down, but she is rescued by Jonathan. Nancy Wheeler is one of the main characters in Stranger Things. She is a 16-year-old teenager at the beginning of the series, studious and smart, whose life revolves around her teenage friendships and problems, including her first flirtation with Steve Harrington, the popular high school boy.

Later, as the different investigations converge, Nancy discovers with horror that Eleven tells them that Barbara has been killed by the predator. She will have difficulty recovering from this loss, feeling somehow guilty for having dragged the young woman with her to Steve's party and for having left her alone, the ideal prey of Demogorgon.

And now, Season 4 introduced us to a new couple threatening to eclipse all the others: Nancy + Robin! While Steve’s ex and her friend were researching notorious psychopath Victor Creel, Robin knew she was annoying Nancy. The former has no filter; the latter no poker face. In the process, Nancy realized that Robin was much more than a nuisance complaining about the itchy “Easter brunch.” Robin also began to see why Steve was still so kind to his ex. Six months after the Battle of Starcourt in Season 3, Nancy finds herself working in The Hawkins Post newspaper, where she investigates the untimely death of Chrissy Cunningham.

Despite their differences – Nancy is a girly girl with a ballerina music box in her bedroom, Robin is a lesbian whose only weakness seems to be doubting her gaydar – they bonded. Made Eleven and Max from “rivals” to unforgettable friends. Matched Steve and Robin in a platonic way and prepared the stage for Joyce and Murray. In his free time, Shane loves going for runs and playing with his 16-year-old beagle Butterscotch. Butters for short, she has been the greatest love of his and inspires him everyday, both creatively and emtionally. On top of that, he's now a huge collector. He loves Funko Pop, McFarlane Toys, and Neca's huge line of horror figures. In the last two years he has been going to a lot of conversations to buy an unhealthy amount of figures. This has also allowed him to meet some of his favorite filmmakers/actors like Mike Flanagan, Matthew Lillard, John Carpenter, Grace Caroline Curry, Steve Burns and Kathryn Newton.And both clearly loved Steve, albeit in very different ways. (In fact, if anyone advocated a Nancy/Steve reunion more than we did in Season 4, it was Robin.) However, Shane isn't just a movie guy. He also loves video games. Super Mario Sunshine, The Last of Us Part 1 and 2, and Batman: Arkham City are some of his favorites. Music plays a big part in his life as well. Given that Shane's a big horror fan, you might be surprised to learn that he's a pop guy. Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, The Jonas Brothers, and Demi Lovato play on repeat while he's writing. So in episode 6, when Robin asked if she and Nancy were now “officially” friends, the question was almost rhetorical. The creators of Stranger Things know how to mix ‘n’ match. They’ve turned Steve and Dustin’s odd couple into a forever bromance in past seasons.
