Description

There is a nice simple custom function menu, with numerous options available. The Alternate firing and Mask functions being nice new features. UPDATE 2022 – When released in early 2018 the XPLOR 600 PRO / Godox AD600 PRO TTL were another game changing light for Godox and Flashpoint, and set a new standard and direction for the lights to come. And they still remain at the top of their class today.

I did wonder if the HSS mode would be an issue with the colour temperature because when HSS is selected, it automatically disables the Colour Consistency mode. At full power output with the standard reflector and in HSS, we recorded 5627k, and at 1/256th output, we recorded 5696k. Personally, I found that very impressive. And an option to hear a beep when power levels are changing on the strobewould be nice as well, particularly for the times when you can’tsee the LCD screen. BATTERY

Cons

The first time I used the XPLOR 600PRO was at a wedding. Risky business, but thankfully the unit came through. The chosen portrait location was in full sun in the middle of a bright summer day. I put the XPLOR 600PRO in an un-diffused 72” white Savage bounce umbrella and cranked the power to 1/1. The portrait shoot went off without a hitch, even when I was surprised with a group of 35 people to photograph. Flashpoint, one; sun, zero. COMPLETE COMPATIBILITY - The Godox AD600 Pro is completely compatible with major camera brands. With full TTL connectivity for Canon E-TTL II, Nikon i-TTL autoflash, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus and Panasonic TTL autoflash systems, the AD600 Pro also has full support for 1/8000s High-Speed Sync for compatible cameras BUILT IN GODOX 2.4G WIRELESS X SYSTEM - With the built-in 2.4G wireless receiver, the Godox AD600 Pro is completely remote controllable thanks to the built-in Godox 2.4G wireless X system. When using in combination with the X1T or XPro triggers, the AD600 Pro can be adjusted, fired and controlled within a 100m range And that supplied 5″ reflector, providing a broader even light pattern, is nice, thoughover a stop lessbright than the original 600 with supplied 7″ reflector. A screen grab from the XPro-P review video (coming soon) lit by the AD400 Pro modelling light inside a 4ft parabolic softbox. 1/50, f/8, ISO800.

Due to its size, the AD100 Pro is a great light to hold and maneuver as you need. Because it is so light and small, it is perfect for squeezing into tight spaces and angles to achieve the perfect lighting. It can also be simply held in your hand and moved around accordingly which isn’t possible or can be uncomfortable with bigger and heavier lights. The final specs remain unchanged, as compared to the leak. It’s a 28.8v 2600mAh battery (vs 11.1v 8700mAh on the AD600), it has a recycle time of 0.01 to 0.9 seconds, which means at lower power (I’ve been told 1/16th and below) you can shoot a rapid 10 frames per second. Due to the change in battery, the maximum amount of full power flashes has been reduced from 500 to 360. From Pro Photo to New Bee, we have you on the road to wireless independence. R2. World Passport to Everywhere. I was pretty close to it, but to be fair, it’s a 4ft octabox. With a smaller box, an aperture of, say f/4, I could’ve gotten quite a bit more distance and possibly been able to lower the ISO. ISO800 isn’t unreasonable for video, though. Normally when I shoot TTL, it’s when I’m forced to bring my camera along to family events. I’ll set my camera to aperture priority with -2EV compensation to underexpose the ambient and pop an SB-900 in the hotshoe bounced off the ceiling set to +2EV to bring the subject up where I want it.But regardless of whether we were shooting within sync or at 1/1000th of a second, the AD400 Pro never missed a beat. Of course, most of us wouldn’t expect it to, but this is possibly the first time that anybody has tried it on a Pentax camera outside of the Godox test labs. The AD600 Pro also offers a very powerful modeling lamp, meaning that this light can also be used as a video light alongside its flash capabilities! Offering a 38w light, as well as a 4-hour battery life from a single charge, the AD600 Pro is a great tool for both videography and flash photography. AD600B/AD600BM: This is Godox’s most powerful off-camera light. Both models are 600 w/s and use an attached Li-on battery. While they both are HSS capable the AD600BM does not have TTL (the M stands for manual). Both have a Bowens mount for light modifiers. Popular accessories for the AD600 include an AC adapter that replaces the battery for endless power, and the H600B and H1200B remote heads. The H600B offers 9 feet of cable for keeping the large AD600 body low on a light stand, while the H1200B draws power from 2 cabled AD600’s that can be mounted lower.
