Description

The film opened on November 5, 2004, as Pixar's first film to be rated PG (for "action violence") with the other PG-rated Pixar films being Up, Brave, and several subsequent films. While Pixar celebrated another triumph with The Incredibles, Steve Jobs was embroiled in a public feud with the head of its distribution partner The Walt Disney Company. This would eventually lead to the ousting of Michael Eisner and Disney's acquisition of Pixar the following year. This film marks the first Pixar movie to receive a PG rating by the MPAA (however, it is rated U by the BBFC in the United Kingdom, while it's sequel was PG), with the second being Up, the third being Brave, the fourth being Inside Out, the fifth being The Good Dinosaur, the sixth being Finding Dory, and the seventh being the sequel. The reason for this rating is that it has more violence than the G rated Pixar films that came before it. Snetiker, Marc. "Could there be an 'Incredibles 3'? Director Brad Bird weighs in". Adding further confusion to this is that Thunderhead's death was stated by Edna to have been November 15th, 1958, rendering the possibility of the film being in 1962 even more unlikely due to his death being included in the NSA files from when the Superhero Restriction Act went into effect. Moreover, Bird would tolerate no compromises for the sake of technical simplicity. Where the technical team on Monsters, Inc. had persuaded director Pete Docter to accept pigtails on Boo to make her hair easier to animate, the character of Violet had to have long hair that obscured her face; it was integral to her character. Violet's long hair was extremely difficult to achieve and for the longest time during production, it was not possible. In addition, animators had to adapt to having hair underwater and blowing through the wind. Disney was initially reluctant to make the film because of these issues, feeling a live-action film would be preferable, though Lasseter vetoed this.

While en route to his wedding, Mr. Incredible sees him jump off a building and saves him, which results in injuries to Sansweet in the process. Following the incident, Sansweet sues Mr. Incredible in Superior Court for preventing his suicide. His lawyer states that he did not want to be saved, and that injuries he sustained in the incident cause him daily pain. Sansweet's lawsuit against Mr. Incredible, as well as a series of other Super-related lawsuits, leads the government to initiate the Superhero Relocation Program.

Many disability advocates, including the Epilepsy Foundation, have raised concerns that movie scenes with flashing lights, including that in Incredibles 2 of Elastigirl's fight with the Screenslaver, can trigger seizures in viewers affected by photosensitive epilepsy. [94] [95] [96] As a result, several theaters posted warnings for audiences. [97] Disney told USA Today that it appreciated those efforts, and then, in a memo, asked all theaters exhibiting the movie to warn audiences: " Incredibles 2 contains a sequence of flashing lights, which may affect customers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitivities." [98] Of course, Pixar wouldn’t be where it is today without its stellar cast of characters. Because what is Toy Story without Woody and Buzz? The Incredibles without the Parr family? Inside Out without Joy, Sadness, and Fear? (And Bing Bong, obviously!) As the years have passed and the filmography has lengthened, Pixar has filled out its universe ( which is all connected, by the way) with countless characters we’ve grown close to, characters we’ve unexpectedly empathized with, and characters who not only entertain us but help us understand our world.
