Description

Johnnie Walker Aged 18 Years is a smooth, well-rounded combination of up to 18 different whiskies from all over Scotland. Most of these are classic malt whiskies – which have undergone a slow, easy maturation in Scotland for at least 18 years. Another popular type of whiskey is Irish whiskey, which is made in Ireland. Irish whiskey is made from a blend of malted and unmalted barley, as well as other grains such as corn and rye. It is aged in oak barrels for at least three years. Irish whiskey is known for its smooth and mellow flavor, which is derived from the triple distillation process that it undergoes. No doubt abut it, Chivas Regal and Johnnie Walker are two of the most popular blended Scotch whiskies on the market. With JW being king of the blends and Chivas a close contender, it can be tough choosing between them. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. Heather-Honey, Toffee, Vanilla, Salted Butter, Plum Jam, Salted Almonds/Peanuts, Herbal Tea, Mint, Dusty Earth, Smoke and Orange-Flavoured Dark Chocolate.

As the whisky market became more unstable during the 1920s and 1930s, Johnnie Walker amalgamated with Distillers Company Limited (DCL). Bourbon whiskey is a type of whiskey that is made in the United States. It is made from a mash that contains at least 51% corn, as well as other grains such as rye, wheat, and barley. Bourbon whiskey is aged in new, charred oak barrels for at least two years. It is known for its sweet and smoky flavor, which is derived from the charred oak barrels. Both these brands are top players in the blended Scotch category. Whilst Chivas aren’t quite as mainstream, their Speyside orientated blends were a delight to sample. Jameson, Bushmills, and Tullamore Dew are some of the most popular brands of Irish whiskey. These brands are known for their smooth and mellow flavors, which are derived from the triple distillation process that they undergo. As much as I love the JW18, the Chivas Regal 18 is a truly stunning blend. It’s got these wonderful fruity spiced flavours that really dance in your glass. For me, it’s got fantastic depth and nostalgically reminds me of my grandmother’s home made marmalade on toast. There’s a beautiful zing to this whisky but with adult-level spice and complexity.Regardless of whether the Service offers the functionality to contribute, you are solely responsible and liable for any content and information that you create, upload, post, publish, link to, duplicate, transmit, record, display or otherwise make available on the Service or to other Members, such as chat messages, text messages, videos, audio, audio recordings, music, pictures, photographs, text and any other information or materials, whether publicly posted or privately transmitted (“Contributions”). Compared to the Chivas Regal XV, the Green Label is no where near as fruity or sweet. Frankly, it’s a totally different bottle with much peatier, smokier flavours which can be a real crowd-splitter if that’s not your thing.

It is hand-crafted by Jim Beveridge – twice voted Master Blender of the Year – who sought out the ultimate combination of complex and smooth 18-year-old whiskies drawn from the main whisky producing regions of Scotland including classic Speyside malts, such as Cardhu, Glen Elgin and Auchroisk known for their sweetness and elegance; fruity and complex Highland Malts including Blair Athol and beautifully aged island malts that introduce a subtle smokiness”In addition to its range of blended Scotch whiskies, Johnnie Walker also produces a number of other famous drinks. These include the Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, which is a luxurious blend that is aged for at least 18 years and has a rich and creamy flavor, and the Johnnie Walker Platinum Label, which is a smooth and sophisticated blend that is aged for at least 18 years and has notes of honey and vanilla. For the money (50 €) and in this yearbook it is an excellent blend that you won't buy anywhere else. Very mild, quite sweet, fruity with a smoky haze at the very end, makes me crave for another dram. Uniquely, the Green Label by Johnnie Walker is a bit of anomaly within their range. Unlike the rest of their bottles, this edition is the only one to exclude grain whiskies using only single malts in it’s 15 year old blend. If you’re a Johnnie Walker fan, you’ll know that their portfolio pinnacle is the coveted Blue Label. For this review however, we’ll top-out with their 18 year old. On the palate however, I taste hints of crisp refreshing apples, with sweet pear and vanilla. There’s also a toffee like sweetness that comes through with a tang that reminds me of aniseed. I’m usually not much of a fan of this sort of flavour, but it brings an aromatic element to this dram which works nicely with the sweet fruitiness.
