So I've been wondering if this is really worth it to replace the ER version. I had this SS86 Ironhide for a very short time and I wasn't too sure if I liked him more than Earthrise Ironhide as I liked how he was next to Siege Ratchet. When I had them side by side it made me think hard about which I liked best However, I did since then get DK-2 Guard and was able to splurge on all the Nonnef upgrades for him. Reach past the big screen and build the ultimate Transformers collection with Studio Series figures (each sold separately), inspired by iconic movie scenes and designed with specs and details to reflect the Transformers movie universe. Now including The Transformers: The Movie! The code names of many of the other figures, assuming they even had code names, are still unknown, as those toys have (thus far) consistently been listed under their actual characters' names. Meanwhile, a listing for a supposed Voyager Class figure using the code name "Destroyer" later turned out to be a mislabeled Energon Igniters Speed Series Barricade from the Bumblebee movie toy line, with which the Studio Series shares its code names.

I'm just bummed he doesn't have 5mm ports on his arms. I wanna give him big arm cannons. After Bayverse Ironhide, I think every version of Ironhide works with BFGs on each arm

Plus I love the bulk of the van mode as well. But I keep seeing pics of the SS86 one and am starting to like how he looks again in bot mode and how he has the all in one transformation to van mode. ICONIC MODES: Figure features classic conversion between robot and van modes in 26 steps. Perfect for fans looking for a more advanced converting figure. For kids and adults ages 8 and up Reposting since this is the main thread, looks like they’re the same size in alt mode. The more I look at my pimped ER vanettes, the less I’m hyped by this new voyager IH. While it has never been confirmed, the move to include 1986 characters in the Studio Series toyline after three years of continuous focus on the live-action films, was likely done to allow Hasbro and TakaraTomy to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the film, without stepping on the toes of the Beast Wars 25th anniversary, which was celebrated as a part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy. Evidence suggesting this is the inclusion of some of the film's main characters ( Cyclonus, Rodimus Prime and Galvatron) being sold in the concurrently-ran Kingdom toyline and the shared design aesthetics of the toys between both lines.
