Description

You can use printable iron on with all sorts of fabric blanks, including t-shirts, tote bags, onsies, and more. You can even use it on wood—I have a tutorial for that coming soon!

To ensure the best possible outcome for your iron on transfer, here are some valuable tips to keep in mind: Remember to test these methods on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first to ensure they do not damage or discolor the material. If in doubt, seek professional assistance to remove the design without causing harm to your garment.

Place a smooth cloth, for example 2-3 tea towels or a foldedpillowcase, between the T-shirt and a solid surface. Using anironing board is not recommended. Before you start printing your design, it is crucial to properly prepare the fabric to ensure a smooth and long-lasting transfer. Here are some steps to follow: If you own a laser printer, you may still be able to use iron on transfer paper, but you will need to look for specially designed paper that is compatible with laser printers. Laser printers use heat during the printing process, so the transfer paper needs to be able to withstand the higher temperatures without melting or smudging.

Set the timer based on the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific iron on printer paper you are using. This will ensure that the design is exposed to the heat for the necessary amount of time. You can use your Cricut Explore, Cricut Maker, or other cutting machine with printing/cutting capabilities to cut around the edge of your design. (Note that a Cricut Joy does not do Print then Cut.) If the design is simple enough, though, you can even use scissors and skip the cutting machine step entirely! What Type of Printable Iron On is the Best?Iron the shirt, on top of the pillowcase, until the shirt is completely flat BEFORE applying the design. You don’t want wrinkles to be printed into your design. If you are looking for information on how to use iron on transfer paper we have put together this handy guide that summarizes some of the information on the subject.

Peeling method: Start by gently peeling off the design from the fabric. You can use your fingernail or a blunt object, such as a credit card, to lift the edges of the design. Slowly peel it off, taking care not to damage the fabric. To use printable heat transfer vinyl, you’ll need a cutting machine, such as a Cricut or Silhouette, to cut out your design. Once the design is cut, you can remove the excess vinyl using a weeding tool, leaving only the desired design on a clear carrier sheet.

Applying and Transferring the Design

Remove the iron and let the image and t shirt cool for at least a few minutes. The paper should feel room temperature.
