Sit in the upper loggia of the cloister overlooking the inner courtyard and enjoy the harmony of space typical of Renaissance architecture. So this is not a comprehensive list by any means, but we’ll share some of the most popular and common drinks you’ll likely see on menus: The atmosphere inside is Old World with red velvet, gold decorations, damask-lined walls, marble tables, beautiful artwork on the walls, and references to famous patrons. Waiters wear tuxedos to serve patrons seated at tables. However, as you might imagine, Caffè Greco serves some of the highest-priced coffee in Rome. A cup of coffee costs about 7 euros if you sit at a table!

Whether you’re a resident or a visitor seeking an authentic Roman experience, these cafes offer a chance to highlight your stay and create lasting memories. Antico Caffè Greco There’s one favorite coffee place for everyone right? When it comes to my favorite Roman cafe, I never changed my answer in the past 7 years: Bistrot & Wine Bar Pasquino. A small bar set on Via del Governo Vecchio near Piazza Navona, with a cute outdoor seating area on one of the most charming streets in the historic center of Rome. The quality, the charming environment, and the staff are all amazing!

If you are needing a caffeine fix after visiting the Vatican, we recommend a stop at Pergamino Caffè. Just be aware that this is a more modern coffee stop. This is one of the few places we found that served cold brew coffee, which was much appreciated in the blistering summer heat during our last summertime visit. They even have Nitro cold brew coffee (and tea) on tap. I believe they were one of the first places to serve Nitro cold brew coffee in Rome. If you’d like to have lunch or dinner, you’ll find a meal of the day (like parmigiana), organic local wines, and beer.

Seek coffee spots in Rome outside the main tourist areas. Avoid famous cafes, including some on the list we recommend. Although note that a caffè is not going to break the bank even at the most famous coffee houses, if you have it standing at the bar.

La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro

One of the most delicious dishes from here is the Tteokbokki. These Korean rice dumplings provide a unique dish to chow down on while admiring the Roman sights. Oh, and did I mention the Maritozzo, filled with cream and honey, and the ricotta-rich Sfogliatella? I highly recommend Roscioli’s Sfogliatella, a crunchy, delicate pastry whose outer shell encloses tart candied fruit, one of the finest examples of this pasticcio in Rome. There are about 5,000 cafes in Rome, but only a few of them are cute and cozy. What is the oldest café in Rome? When it comes to coffee beans, Castroni coffee shops in Rome are a guarantee, both in terms of quality and variety of choices. The café develops around a small public library, and therefore you’ll fit in perfectly if you have a laptop or a book with you.

The Carré Francaise is both a restaurant and a café with a bakery. The special feature is that the food is truly French, as is the founder of the café and half the people who work there. And it’s actually not as pricy as if you’d be having a coffee in the middle of Piazza Navona! Sant’Eustachio is the place you’d have closest if you’re looking for a coffee shop near Pantheon Rome since it’s literally 1 street away. This cute coffee shop that’s also serving their own coffee which they import from Brazil from Maya descendants.
