Description

Eternity Aqua is really crisp in clean in its presentation and when the cucumber note emerges, I find it to be rather soothing as well. While it does mimic aquatic colognes in some respects, I feel that it is more of a sporty scent full of fresh green aromas than anything marine based. The construction of its notes aren’t really aquatic at all, in the sense of having sea note (like Bvlgari Aqva). It’s almost something else posing as an aquatic fragrance. That being said, I think Eternity Aqua is a really good, but not great option in this category of scent. Calvin Klein Eternity Aqua Men is particularly well-suited for warm weather and summer. Its fresh and aquatic profile makes it an excellent choice for sunny days and outdoor activities. For our next entry in our series of review of Calvin Klein colognes for men, we are going to be taking a closer look at Eternity Aqua which was introduced by the designer in 2010. Yes, it’s a much more recent and up to date version of the highly popular Eternity, though, the two are quite different fragrances even if they share the same name.

Aqua is best left to the summer months, when the warm temperatures, can cause many other scents to wilt in the exposure. It does blend some citrus and floral notes which gives it an interesting opening before it settles down into a light, clean, and almost powdery like aroma. There are plenty of fragrances that market themselves as “aquatic”, but Eternity Aqua takes the name for itself by proving just what “aquatic” is for a fragrance. It’s strong citrus and lavender never truly wear off, making it a solid scent for the entirety of its lifespan. Calvin Klein Eternity Aqua Men is a refreshing and invigorating men's fragrance by the renowned American brand Calvin Klein. It is celebrated for its aquatic and masculine scent that captures the essence of the ocean. People seem to like the way this smells and it is one that will gather complements. It’s not really sexy but has such a great freshness, that it becomes attractive. It is a casual scent and one that is safe for office or school wear. I wouldn’t mind wearing this at all during the daytime in the summer months, as it presents itself perfectly well, and the scent while it is nothing too unique is attractive and pleasant.

Directions

I like the mix of crisp cucumber, spice, and the plum note in the early stages of the wear. To me, that’s the best part of the wear. After that it’s pretty basic and there isn’t too much development. The performance is just okay, not going to blow the doors off or anything. I was tending to over-spray Eternity Aqua on me, when I was using it over the summer. That’s the way I could get some level of longevity with it. It’s enough to be enjoyed for the entire day, but not too much to become stale or overused. It’s got a great balance which is part of what makes it such a great overall scent. When to Wear It Eternity Aqua’s longevity is just above average for a men’s fragrance. I noticed it lasts for the entire day without any issues. The impressive part is that the fragrance manages to keep its unique scent for its entire span of the day. That’s what makes Eternity Aqua so noticeable and refreshing. Your day is filled with a wonderful flowing ocean water breeze. Sillage All in all, if you need an affordable option for the warmer months, Eternity Aqua by Calvin Klein is a solid performer that will get the job done. It smells really good, isn’t overpowering, has decent longevity, and can be had at a good price.

Drug Interactions

Eternity for Men Aqua (2010) is the first non-seasonal flanker to Eternity for Men (1989). The first seasonal variations of Eternity for Men started in the previous decade, which were still about 20 years late to the party even then, but as the first official permanent flanker to a legendary line that was past the two decade mark by the time this hit shelves, Eternity for Men Aqua had big shoes to fill. Unfortunately, there was no way in Hell this was going to live up to the hype of the seminal "fresh fougère" that literally acted as a reset button on the way male perfumes were composed for many years to follow. What makes this more sad, is that Eternity for Men Aqua followed in a very tired semi-dry "second generation aquatic" theme still reliant upon merging fruit with the dihydromyrcenol, laundry musk, and linalool as the base of older aquatics, and was a style that outside of the Nautica label, had almost run its course by 2010. As if things couldn't be worse, this also got completely steamrolled by Bleu de Chanel (2010), which launched in the same year and added faux ambergris plus a host of woody aromachemicals to the palette. With these new notes powering freshies to make them richer and longer-lasting, what chance did a crisp short-lived and apologetic hold-over from the previous decade have in the market? Well, evidently this had better success than I could have ever expected, and has remained in production, which is a testament to the staying power of the Eternity brand no matter what's in the bottle. I really do hate ragging on Calvin Klein because I feel a lot of their efforts are misunderstood in the greater scheme of things, but there is nothing saving this vacuous cash-in from criticism, not even its badging.
