Gideon Cross is my ultimate hero. His combination of larger-than life personality and uncanny good looks; enigmatic and elusive; intense and in-control; broken and flawed; ruthless and unyielding, yet when it came to his Eva vulnerable, relentless and human. I know there’s been some controversy over this latest installment from Sylvia Day. Many people thought this would be the final Crossfire book, and once they understood the series is a quintet, questioned whether the story truly necessitated more books. In my own personal opinion, after finishing Entwined With You, the story did call for a further extension. There are just so many elements they need to work through — some internal to themselves and between each other, others requiring them to overcome external forces and circumstances. I didn’t feel there were a lot of fillers in the story, but may comment on one or two lingering questions I had below in my review.

Again, the beginning of this novel really reminded me of Fifty Shades, but I will say this, the author did a great job of moving away from Fifty Shades at the end of this novel. I think the conflict and the dramatic ending really made this book stand apart. I believe that the next two books (the final two books in the series) will help to tie up loose ends and that the faithful readers will finally get the answers that they are so desperately looking to find. Whatever.” I sighed inwardly at her mention of my ex, Brett Kline, who was front man for a band on the rise and one of the sexiest men I’d ever met. Like Gideon, he radiated sex appeal like a heat wave. Unlike Gideon, he wasn’t the love of my life. I was never going to wade in that pool again.

I also think that given the circumstances laid out in the previous book Eva didn’t have a choice in kissing Brett. Brett saw her, chased her, cornered her, grabbed her and then kissed her. Given the circumstances I am not sure that she really had any choice in the matter. I think that if anything, that kiss was instrumental to Gideon realizing just how jealous and insecure Eva got around Corinne. Until then Gideon never really understood the level and depths of Eva’s jealousies and insecurities. into the book and its the SAME crap! SAME. Do you know how frustrating it is? Waiting for a book for months hoping to get a load of stuff out of it and what do we get? Nothing. This book put my heart through a delicious ringer. It made it race, flutter, melt, burn, freeze, drop, pound, stop... It broke my heart and it healed my heart. I loved every minute!!!

And the HEAT!!!! ohhhhh the intensity!! This has got to be one of the hottest books I've ever read! Not that it was literally the most graphic but just that their connection intensified every sexual encounter between them. It was scorching!! Sizzling! And, I'm not going to lie, they certainly took things further in the bedroom than they'd ever gone before. There was definitely an "oh my!!" moment for me at one pointIn the previous book we saw exactly how far Gideon is prepared to go to keep Eva safe but now he is facing the fallout. Not only does he have to try and come to terms with what he did but he also has to make sure nothing can be pinned on him and he can only hope that it doesn't change the way Eva looks at him. He is pushed into taking extreme measures to keep his secret and it shows just how far his and Eva's relationship has progressed when she is able to trust him no matter how bad things look. Their relationship still isn't perfect by a long shot but things are better than they ever have been. I really want to see the pair of them talk to each other more rather than constantly using sex as a way of communicating but it was good to see them start to get a handle on their jealousy issues and have a little faith in each other.
