This resource includes a lovely selection of small illustrations from the story of 'A Special Outing'. We brought out our Where Things Come From – Farm Cards (The Helpful Garden) and the boys sorted through the stack. I pre-cut Little Blue, the background, and set out supplies for our “mud in action” splatter art project. I would like my class to use this resource for my children to retell the story but there are no children and no boat to go with the other characters. Create their own imaginative narratives about a journey by car and record as a story map, with some text.

Using these tales as starting points, take part in role-plays, make puppets and create your own imaginative journey stories including dance and artwork. I printed some of the extra pumpkin farm picture cards and used dry erase markers for a quick contraction match activity for Jordan.
