There are five brushing modes: daily clean, intense clean, whitening, sensitive and super sensitive. That will be plenty for most users but some may miss a massaging setting for gums and the tongue brushing mode that more expensive models have. But it cleans effectively and feels like a big step up from the traditional Oral-B models. What’s more, it delivers an excellent clean, with three modes – Sensitive, Daily Clean and Whitening – that take you all the way from a softer brush that’s easy on the gums to a more intense polish that should help get rid of staining. Battery life, meanwhile, is exceptional; you’ll easily get through two weeks of brushing and probably three without a recharge. It’s the king of sensibly priced brushes and one of the easiest recommendations in the Oral-B range. A bigger difference and potentially useful feature for first time electric toothbrush users is the inclusion of a pressure sensor on the 2000. The iO6 is the best value option. It strikes the balance between additional features and price. It has some smart features, but not the full suite. You can learn more about this mode and how it differs but reading our article, Oral-B cleaning modes explained. But, the whitening mode is often overrated.

The 600 comes in light Blue or Pink whilst the Pro 2 2000 comes in a dark Blue or Pink. Both have gloss white plastic bodies. The type and model number has a role to play. But, these can still be configured differently, for example, the number of cleaning modes on offer. So is it any clearer for people? 🤔 In the sections below we compare Oral-B brushes that are close to each other in price and features. Model by model comparison Pro 600 vs Pro 2 2000

A more budget-friendly version of the iO Series 9 that cuts no important corners

Alternatively, you could try to buy an EU charging stand separately and then you can just pop the brush onto that rather than having to worry about a voltage and power adapter. Another slight difference is the 9000’s lovely travel case has a clip built into the lid that holds a smartphone, for using the app when travelling. Whilst each has its place within the market, it is the Pro Series that is the most logical option for the majority. All modes are designed to be used for 2 minutes. The only exception is tongue clean which is set for 30 seconds. There are fewer failure points than more premium models and the fact the electrical components are sealed inside helps limit the chances of failure.

I would like to know if Oral-B iO Series 9 Electric can be used in porcelain veneers? thanks a lot Reply Do bear in mind that with the iO you don’t have the ability to charge the toothbrush in the case and replacement brush heads are more expensive. Reply It is less mechanical sounding, making daily use more enjoyable. You do hear more of what is going on around you. The Smart 6 travel case is better than some of the cheaper models. It is a white colour and is fairly robust.Supplied in the box is a charging stand. White in color, it has a 1.2 meter (4 foot) cable hardwired into it. The plug on the end of the cable is a 2 pin power adapter. It supports 110-1300V.

I’ve yet to find anyone who uses them all or any real justification for having so many. The reality is the cleaning results between each are very similar. Oral-B’s BEST EVER CLEAN with REVOLUTIONARY iO TECHNOLOGY for a professional purifying clean feeling & gentle brushing experience It sits upright on a countertop and gives a home for spare and replacement heads. A removable opaque cap protects them whilst allowing airflow inside to dry wet bristles.Oral-B’s iO range represents a big change for the brand. There’s an all-new design and an improved brushing system. But most models also come with a hefty price tag and tons of features you can happily live without. The reality is that you could use any mode on the brush to clean your tongue just ending the clean sooner. Although the speed and number of oscillations will be different. iO specific heads are required for the iO5. Compared to brush heads you might be familiar with from Oral-B, they are marginally deeper. You’re looking at about a 10 percent difference.

All things considered, the differences between each model in the iO Series range are relatively subtle. For me, the fancy charging stand isn’t too big a factor. If bathroom visuals are important to you, maybe the magnetic stand is worth paying for. Otherwise, you can get by just fine with the cheaper stand. While Oral-B has partnered with schemes such as TerraCycle, it does not yet have its own recycling scheme for used brush heads or faulty products.Instead, the protuberance on the top of the stand will fit into the recess on the base of the iO5’s handle and will recharge the brush in up to 16 hours. Those models with a display will show a notification on the screen. If connected to the Oral-B app, a notification will be displayed here too for compatible models. Ultimately, all of the brushes will provide a very good clean to the teeth and gums if used correctly. A yellow light will be lit inside the mode button on the handle and a notification will appear within the app when a replacement is due. Power isn’t normally promoted or documented as it is a small part of the toothbrushing experience. More power doesn’t necessarily equal a better clean. Your total brushing time and technique have a big part to play.
