Lydia absolutely feels washed up and is just experiencing the movements. Furthermore her little girl, Ollie, has actually just started a six-month overseas trip as well as Lydia is missing her. As the impending final date of divorce ears, Lydia discovers her relationship with her husband, a man she married young after an unplanned pregnancy, a man she has spent her life with to raise an amazing young college aged woman, that the defining relationship with her husband had been a lie. For on an unexpected evening, her husband states he would like a divorce without having had so much as an argument, a conversation, a moment. Just like that exits leaving Lydia stunned, confused, abandoned, and betrayed. Uncertain about why he left the marriage, Lydia reasons after observing him with younger, attractive, and vivacious woman that he desired adventure and had perceived Lydia as boring.

The man smelt nice enough, fresh and masculine, and he kissed with a vigour which she was sure came from a place of passion, but something about the rhythm of his movement and the firm grip of his hand on her shoulder left her cold. His name was Matt, or maybe it was Mark – she wasn’t sure. He’d introduced himself, of course, but Lydia had been so distracted that she’d only half heard him.

Jake mistakes Lydia for Lily when he offers to help her complete the list, but tempted to be someone – anyone – other than plain old Lydia Grey for once in her life, Lydia doesn’t correct him. If you’re looking for a book that will inspire adventure and to get you out of your comfort zone while still getting that Rom Com feel, this is the book for you. Phenomenal . . . I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait to read more from this awesome author’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book was cute, I love my little hags. It was a lot of fun to see Lydia grow as a person and become her best self. This book is fantastic and shares a great message to its readers. Hold onto those who bring out the best of you and let go of the ones who try to change you. This book gives you strangers to lovers, adventure, love, tears, and so many laughs. I have can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard while reading a book.

The end of a chapter was not even a place to stop for a break as it was always a cliff hanger so had to keep reading. However, deception aside, I really liked Lily and just adored Jake. Together they made a believable and lovely couple and I was rooting for them throughout the book.Adam, Lydia’s husband, has found a new partner and deserted her, leaving Lydia feeling lost and alone unable to move on. She has tried internet dating, but still loving her husband, hasn’t succeeded in finding a new partner. I have mixed feelings about the actual premise of the book. Lydia doesn’t tell Jake that she isn’t Lily Bennett until much later in the book. I’m not a fan of relationships that start out with deception, and I thought that she didn’t have a great reason for not telling Jake who she really was early on in the book. I also wondered how she was able to keep her real identity secret from Jake for such a long time. Lydia clearly doesn’t recognise how when you are the lead in a romantic comedy, these sort of decisions always lead to misunderstandings and have a snowball effect. Of course, there are the items on the list like riding a horse, camping, going on a rollercoaster, surfing, and more. All of these prove challenging for Lydia.

Cute story about rediscovering yourself after a divorce. The premise was fun but the whole tension that causes the issue between Lydia and Jake was farfetched - he got to know her, what does it matter what her name was? And it was silly that it took her that long to tell him. His deception was much larger and should have caused the rift, not hers. Other than that, I found the story to be interesting and I loved the relationship between Lydia and her mother as well as the relationship between her and her daughter. I loved Lydia, the main character, and her friend-but-definitely-not-love-interest, Jake. How their relationship grew and changed over a few short months was written so delicately, but in a way that had you rooting for both of them consistently all the way through. Their chemistry was *chef’s kiss*! Although this is a holiday romance book in style and therefore comes complete with a predictable ending, it did not disappoint, it was funny and thoroughly enjoyable!
