Description

The Galaxy A32 5G ships with Android 11 along with One UI 3.1. Samsung’s custom skin continues to improve with each update, and its latest brings deep integration with Microsoft Office as well as an updated camera app, an improved Eye Comfort Shield mode that automatically adjusts the screen’s display throughout the day, and the option to switch out Samsung Daily on the home screen with Google Discover. The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G's cameras perform well for a budget phone.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G is among the very cheapest 5G handsets, which isn’t necessarily something you’d expect from a big name like Samsung. It would be an understatement to say Steven Winkelman is obsessed with mobile technology. Since joining PCMag as a mobile analyst in 2019, he’s reviewed over 100 phones and tablets. Before that he covered mobile and wearable tech as a staff writer at Digital Trends.

But with 5G, a speedy chipset, and a battery that’s big enough to keep up, the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G definitely seems to put performance – and price – ahead of everything else. So if that’s the balance you’re looking for then it won’t disappoint. For low-light photos with the primary lens, the Galaxy A32 5G surpassed the Nord N200 5G. I noticed noise and some loss of fine detail in most of the test shots, but there was less blur and better color accuracy. Low-light photos with the ultra-wide lens on the Galaxy A32 5G are good for a budget phone, but you'll notice minor distortion and light flare. Also, while most pricier Samsung phones have AMOLED screens, this uses TFT LCD, which doesn’t typically offer as good contrast. RPI: Each year your Airtime Plan will be increased by the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation announced in February plus 3.9%. If RPI is negative, we’ll only apply the 3.9%. You’ll see this increase on your April 2024 bill onwards. Find out more at o2.co.uk/prices.

So if anything performance here is a bit better than you might expect for the money – a feat that was presumably achieved because MediaTek chipsets are likely cheaper than Snapdragon ones. They’re still hardly remarkable – this is unmistakeably a budget camera setup, and we’d have rather seen one or two better lenses than the four forgettable ones here, but performance is respectable in decent lighting conditions, and there’s also scope to record 4K video at 30fps. Network: The bandwidths supported by the device may vary depending on the region or service provider.
