It’s also great for weightlifting and dancing because it provides extra support to keep weight off the ankles and feet. The mesh uses recycled materials (up to 50%) and ensures targeted foot support with a performance fit. Also, the Continental rubber is as effective as ever in extending the life of the Adizero Boston and providing a perfect grip on urban and dirt roads.

If you use this shoe for your pace - and interval training, I am completely convinced that you will set new racing records - perhaps even during your workouts. Its not because the Boston-model is a new revelation from ADIDAS, but this is version 10 which really differs from its predecessor. The adidas Boston has evolved from a speed and racing shoe into this latest version for everyday running. This blue colourway could be a little divisive for people but personally for the style of shoe and the category it finds itself in it’s nice and bold. This shoe has a boost midsole and a rubber outsole, making it great for long-distance walking and running. It has a lace-up closure for a snug fit, and it’s sized to fit. It comes in brand sizes 4-13.Lightweight shoes are built for speedwork and races. They are also called cross-country spikes or racing flats and are built to reduce the impact of the feet on the ground. These shoes have less cushioning and foam to create dynamic motion. Its the first time I have tried Boston and I am not sure if I am smitten by the design. But its a racer which meets a lot of the demands that I have for a racer. Gone are the days of BOOST, welcome to the Lightstrike Pro era! The midsole of the Adidas Adizero Boston uses two layers: regular on the bottom and Pro on the top.

Mileage is the main factor for determining if your running shoes need replacement. A good rule is replacing it once you hit 300-500 miles. And then to put the icing on the cake in terms of responsiveness, the new EnergyRods have been added to the midsole. Its not a carbon plate but the effect is somewhat similar. EnergyRods are carbon fibre rods which provide a rigidity which creates propulsion and thereby limits the loss of energy in the rolling motion from the heel to the toe – however, not as much as a carbon plate. But this is exactly what takes part in making this shoe ideal as your fastest training partner and "promotes" the running shoe to a specific racer with a carbon plate like ADIDAS Adios Pro or Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next%. Dougie: It’s safe to say the shoe has had an overhaul since the previous model, now entering the world of plated technology the latest Boston 10 has noticeably beefed up and bulked out. The Boston features a nylon plate in the midsole which gives you a great pop, and snappy feel when you are on the run. Dougie: I mean wow, these are very well-built shoes! A great amount of cushioning in the midsole, and they seem incredibly durable. It’s great to see how this shoe has moved with the times, whilst retaining much of its heritage and features that runners loved in the previous Boston’s. You are also certainly getting more for your money this time around, as the Boston was previously reserved for those who liked a minimal ride with a little bit of cushioning or wanted a fast race day shoe.Nevertheless, its one of those shoes which provides an enormous boost of confidence when you put it on for the first time. You feel fast - even when you are tired. I have always questioned whether this system really provides any technical advantage or if just adds to the shoe’s weight. Adidas Adizero Boston has gradually established its name in the world of running shoes. And not without reason. Its a versatile and neutral running shoe and a phenomenal racer. They also say that running barefoot makes you run more carefully, which reduces accidents and injuries. They claim that while running barefoot, a person becomes more conscious, takes frequent but shorter steps, and lands softly. Many people associate Boost with insane softness as you know it from ADIDAS Ultraboost among others. And it is also soft and very responsive, men Boston 9 also has an integrated Torsion System between the heel and the forefoot which I certainly think helps to keep the foot stable.

Alex: For me, I found the shoe fitting true to size. I wear a 9.5, standard width across most brands and with this being my first pair of adidas, I was pleased to find the right fit first time round. I did feel some increased pressure in my forefoot during some early test runs but put this down to having laced up far too tightly to begin with. How the Boston 10 has changed from earlier versions? You can invest in hybrid or mixed shoes if you like to run on different terrains. These versatile shoes have a balanced grip and cushioning that work well for pavement and mixed trails. After the recent SL20 release, my first impression of the Lightstrike foam was average. It performed well but wasn’t anything special. For me, this didn’t bode well as the midsole was a centerpiece of their new lineup featuring the SL20, Boston 9, and the Adizero Pro racer. After about 80 miles of Boston 9 running, I’m willing to say that first impressions aren’t everything– these shoes have some juice!

If I’m going to be honest, Lightstrike has ruined some of my favorite shoes in the last six months (see: Adios 5 and SL20), topped over the Boost midsole like a licorice layer on an ice cream sundae. None of these offerings were honestly that bad, they just didn’t have the snap off the forefoot I have loved for years from just plain Boost. Lightstrike is just a bit lifeless to me. I struggle to find anything negative about Boston 10. Perhaps I preferred the design in the Boston 9 but the 10´also looks great. I think its cool. You get a sensation of racing for everyday-running - and who doesn´t enjoy that?
