My new headphones arrived in the mail this week, and included in the box was a nice surprise indeed - extra velour pads: I also thought about the 668. they are a little bit more expensive but also have 56ohm impedance, which is a little bit more than 681. Will it have any effect on the integrated sound card on the MB, or maybe on the clip+?

Well, actually, after a bit more hours, i just realised, the mid part is just, well, "audiable". is just a bit more than enough but not in a way of satisfying mids. Inside are two sets of cables, a one meter and a 3 meter cable, a carrying pouch, a ¼ adaptor and a product manual. They also have a more friendly tonality, as the treble energy is greatly reduced. They actually sound rather dark, compared to the other Superluxes. First Impression (well, i use Galaxy SIII camera, set ISO-800 just for less blurry. so, lots of noises) With an EQ, there is a punchier mid-bass response but sub-bass starts to get distorted and do not provide a much deeper sound.

I like bass, but Im not sure how much do they offer, maybe B would be enough bass for me and maybe classic would be too much. Or the other way. Agree very much on your assessment of the bass department. Not bass head facourites certainly, but the amount EVO can output is satisfying for most I think! By close up though, this headphone gives a fine detail to most of those pattern (though some imperfection of build is shown)

The HD681 EVO output what the music gives it to work with. The soundstage is neither expansive nor cramped. The sound is presented as if it’s coming from a mid-sized indoor concert with speakers surrounding me, intimate but never congested. The impressive thing about the soundstage is the accuracy in which the music is delivered and the sense of space the instruments have. The sound is all around my head, very 3d like in how it’s being presented to me.

Despite atrocious cosmetic qualities, the insanely cheap Superlux HD681 headphones have a sound that aspires to greatness and only narrowly misses the mark. The treble has been tamed (which is good) and it's a more dark sounding headphone, quite different tonality to the originals.
