Given the power Konami has access to in the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and top-of-the-range PCs, this is somewhat of a disappointment. So much more could have been done — even just on the purely resolution and frame rate end — to make these three classics shine once more. They still do as the unique direction of Hideo Kojima is clear to see, but it's smeared somewhat by PS1 pixels and dated PS3 visuals. There is only one version of the Master Collection--the standard edition. The compilation includes a ton of content that will appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Here’s a look at what’s included: An issue that causes the mic audio from game clips captured using console features to not save (Xbox Series X|S) Konami will also release a collection of the first three Metal Gear Solid games later this summer. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will include the following games:

It was probably 5 hours, the two of us, me with the wired controller on the sofa and him sat on the floor. It's also worth mentioning that these three games were rumoured to be part of Vol. 2 months ago — so it's safe to say that the evidence is really starting to add up now. I for example would love it if "protect me knight and gotta protectors came to switch" for example so all 3 games would be there.Metal Gear: Snake's Revenge wasn't worked on by series creator Hideo Kojima, so it's not considered canon. This is simply a neat inclusion from the Master Collection; the actual sequel to Metal Gear is Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, not this. Play it if you like, but you're not missing out on much. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection: What to Play First It’s also hard not to appreciate just how wonderfully the 3D games have aged in general over the years. Metal Gear Solid’s polygons may look ropey by today’s standards, but just the way scenes are constructed feels lightyears ahead of a lot of today’s games in terms of raw composition. Sons of Liberty’s prescient storytelling makes it timeless and vital, with there being plenty of valuable lessons for a new generation of fans to take from it. The unapologetically horny Snake Eater had an incredible amount of innovative systems and mechanics for its day, with it arguably being the series high point in terms of balancing gameplay with a dense, complex story. These three are some of the greatest games of all time (two of them probably within my own personal top ten) and their qualities shine brightly through even the most basic of ports. Lastly, according to the Switch version announcement video, strategy guides for each game will be included too. Naturally, the same goes for all of the games in this bundle. The only outlier is a shared Platinum between Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Still, you can go after it twice over the two versions to maximise your trophy chasing. The PS2 Dynamic Duo To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent. See PlayStation.com/bc for more details.

Patch 1.3.0 resolves the following issues, some of which are platform-specific, and you can peruse the complete list below: The very limited button customization misses out on an opportunity to maximize the controller how you wish. Instead, only the face buttons can be interchanged. You could change your Action or First Person to the Square button, but R1 and L1 are off the table. Since this menu is an overlay of the original game, the opportunity to add customization is sorely missed. The collection will feature Metal Gear Solids: Twin Snakes (the Gamecube remake of MGS1), Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. i would love to play fire emblems radiance /radiant dawn but i ain't paying for second hand 200+ pounds for games. Arnna Hmm.. nothing done to improve them? Well, the HD Collection never included MGS1. The two NES titles (MG1 & Snakes Revenge) were never re-released before. The MSX versions of MG1 & 2 previously were only accessible in MGS3 (leading to people unaware of this when buying the original collection) and are now accessible on their own. MGS1 Integral which had bonus features but was only in Japan is now playable. Visual and technical Bugs that were in the HD Collection have been fixed. Trophies were added to MG1, 2, and MGS. New trophies were added to MGS2 & 3. You can customize your save file in MGS1 Integral for the Mantis section. New disc swap animation and option to switch between different regions is expected. Oh, you can actually pause cutscenes now (albeit, there's a delay but a new feature nonetheless). And this news is one that will make many PlayStation fans extremely happy. Metal Gear Solid Collection Coming To PS5 The storyline, a whirlwind of intrigue and betrayal, has been hailed as the greatest story of the 20th century and was the third title in the METAL GEAR series to become a hit in subsequent years. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 makes Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Snake’s Revenge, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and the original Metal Gear Solid 3 playable for the most recent PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles while failing to really take advantage of those platforms. All of the games here are playable and are a step up from dusting off the original hardware, but despite the word “Master” in this compilation’s title, it’s hard not to feel like it’s been left to some apprentices instead. However, these are still some of the greatest games of all time (and Snake’s Revenge) and their inherent quality carries the collection more than what the collection itself brings: not very much. Despite year one generally being slow for any new console, there still seems to be quite a lot of news being released daily.

While 4Chan can often post false rumours, it does have a history of posting accurate leaks, so we will have to wait and see.

I guess it's petty, but everyone is still credited in each game, so...idk doesn't seem like too big a deal. It is pretty petty, but also...it's so petty that I both don't really care, and think it's kinda funny they'd do this little thing just to slight Kojima. On top of that, the collection includes the Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 digital graphic novels - fully-voiced digital comics depicting the events of the first two Metal Gear Solid games. This collection has fixed many issues present in the HD Collection versions, so it's easily the best modern way to play these titles (PS2 versions win out slightly when it comes to a few bonus features, but in terms of the core titles, they're at their best here. Before there was Metal Gear Solid, there was Metal Gear. First released on the MSX, the Master Collection respects its roots by allowing you to experience the origins of the series. Played from a top-down perspective, these games are quite a lot different from the Metal Gear Solid entries, but they are important for continuing the story on from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This isn't an essential playthrough, though. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Version Included Released in 1998, this was the first 3D title in the METAL GEAR series. The game pioneers 3D stealth action against the threat of war and global nuclear weapons, using live action footage, cinematic cut scenes, interwoven with innovative gameplay.

Also included: an exclusive digital Screenplay Book and Master Book that details the story and characters in Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Said was I coming out I said nope, playing new game, he sat down on the floor in front of me to have a look and I kid you not, he was transfixed. Of course, the 'Vol. 1' part of the name has always suggested that Konami has plans to re-release more Metal Gear titles, but it's still nice to have what is seemingly some degree of confirmation. According to a rumour that began of 4Chan, so take that as you will, Sony and Konami have reached a deal to bring the Metal Gear Solid collection to PlayStation 5 in September 2021. I personally am thinking they're just not wanting to record a whole ass other video for credits. As anyone that has worked on them can tell you...it's actually not that simple to get credits up and running, it's an actual video file they put in the game most of the time, and it's kind of a pain to re-record, and who knows if their names are still the same? People could have gotten married, divorced, just changed their name.

Latest Reviews

When first announced, the core games were Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3, with some confusion on what else was included. Later, it was confirmed Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake would also be part of the collection. am rolls on, the door goes and my partner walks in with friends and kebabs in tow, (remember, this was before mobiles were absolutely everywhere), and said where you 2 been all night!!! The most unique part of this collection is that this game now has Trophy support. For those to whom this matters, you can also get the Platinum on both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1. mgs2 and mgs3 are merely upscaled from 720p to 1080p and are NOT native 1080p. the picture is soft and you will not see much of a difference playing the ps3 hd collection on a modern tv since your tv will do the upscaling to 1080p anyways. a modder has already patched the collection so that it runs the games at 1080p and even 4k (with old textures of course) but that is a steep improvement over what konami released! konami does not deserve another dollar for the fans. stay away! I remember when metal gear solid first came out, me and my partner at that time, had a flat, you know, young couple, not too shabby, 28 inch TV that was the envy of friends lol
