This is my first taste of Barbara Davis's writing, and I'm here to tell you- I am SOLD on her talent! And her beautiful imagination, not to mention her artistic way of words to open your mind's eye to see exactly what she wants you to see, to feel, to understand her words that make this a wonderful read!

These two books are obviously meant to go together and the more she reads the more she finds a love story full of betrayal, regrets, misunderstandings, greed, jealousy and family secrets. This is an excellent book, and you’ll especially like it if you’re a historical fiction fan and enjoy the time period leading up to WWII. This book has some mystery and romance in it as well, so really it has some of everything. You Might Also Enjoy These Books She refers to herself as a Yankee, turned Southerner, turned Yankee! When she’s not writing she’s an avid reader, foodie, and lover of music, a football fan, and a devoted Florida Gator. There was so much wrapped into this book. It was one of those books that you SIGH a content sigh at the end and say well.. that was amazing and wonderful. 🥰

Is this on your list? Do you have a favorite @bdavisauthor book? Do tell so I can add it!! What are you reading today?? ❤️ As Ashlyn unravels the lives of Hemi and Belle, she inches closer to bringing closure not only to their tale but also to the unfinished chapters of her own life. In deciphering their story, she discovers profound insights about love, forgiveness, and the power of second chances. The echoes of these old books guide her toward a profound understanding of her own path toward the future. The Echo Of Old Books – What I Liked With no clues about the origins of these books, Ashlyn finds herself entangled in a literary puzzle that spans generations. The Echo of Old Books was absolutely the right book at the right time for this reader, with its combination of historical mystery, tragic romance and historical ambiance both in Belle and Hemi’s 1941 and Ashlyn and Ethan’s “present day” of 1984.Like people, it is the books with the most scars that have lived the fullest lies. Faded, creased, dusty, broken. These have the best stories to tell, the wisest counsel to offer.” If you are reading this, you already know about the magical lure of books, but perhaps you need reminding that rewriting your own story is possible with a little bit of courage. This book will help you summon the courage needed. Without a reader, a book was a blank slate, an object with no breath or pulse of its own. But once a book became part of someone’s world, it came to life, with a past and a present—and, if properly cared for, a future.” Going through a box of old books just received she finds a beautifully bound book entitled “Regretting Belle” no author, no publisher or any other identification except the inscription: “How, Belle? After everything…how could you do it?” The emotion this book is putting out is too strong to ignore and Ashlyn decides to read the book. Books were safe. They had plots that followed predictable patterns, beginnings, middles, and endings. Usually happy, though not always. But if something tragic happened in a book, you could just close it and choose a new one, unlike real life, where events often played out without the protagonist’s consent.”
