Grenade released this flavour in 2016 but, convinced I hated mint chocolate, I’ve waited until now to try it. Created in partnership with Oreo, this bar combines real Oreo pieces with Grenade’s tried-and-tested protein bar base. In 2015, Grenade launched their first Carb Killa bar (Caramel Chaos) and since then the range has kept on growing. Grenade have even switched up their usual ‘structure’, swapping the soya crispies for peanut chunks in the chocolate layer. Jeremy and I are both a huge fan of white chocolate, I feel like it isn’t used enough in desserts. The subtle flavor pairs perfectly with Golden Oreos.

Grenade Protein Bars should be consumed as a part of a balanced diet. Product contains more than 10g/100g polyols: excessive consumption may cause laxative effect. Texture-wise this bar is a variation on Grenade’s newer formula. It’s soft and fluffy, with a nice crunch from the crispies. It’s certainly a good bar, but then we’ve come to expect that from Grenade by now. It’s nothing groundbreaking and it’ll never replace a Terry’s Chocolate Orange, but it is a decent bar The white chocolate is the only difference to the OG Oreo bar. You still get the soft, crumbly core, authentic vanilla crème and real Oreo pieces, just now with a creamy white chocolate coating. Well, not all of you do, but a large percentage do! I will admit that Oreos don’t always stay as my favourite biscuit, I adore others like Custard Creams, or even the classic Digestive.. but Oreos are just more popular on the internet!After the successes of my M&M Cookie Bars, and Rolo Cookie Bars, I thought I would do something similar, so the Oreo Cookie Bars happened. HOWEVER… I knew that if I just did a cookie mixture, with some Oreos, it would be too dry. This meant I needed something Chocolatey! I had coincidentally been given one of the ‘Cadbury’s Big Bars’ for Christmas and it was the Oreo one, and this just seemed to ideal to miss it.

Serve:Oreo White Chocolate Bark is good at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Dark chocolate mint is a classic flavour and hard to mess up. BUT as a previous mint chocolate #hater, I have to say I’m blown away by this bar. The mint flavour doesn’t remind me of toothpaste, mixing well with the dark chocolate and leaving you with a refreshing aftertaste. Who doesn’t love chocolate? This bar should be every chocoholic’s dream, but I can’t help thinking how different it can realistically be from the Fudge Brownie flavour…Add ins: Try mixing in crushed pretzels, a little bit of peanut butter, or even chocolate chips. You can customize your Oreo Bark in a variety of ways to match your personal tastes or the occasion. I like to make this recipe whenever the white chocolate craving hits for us at home, but on more than one occasion, I have made them for bake sales and gatherings. I can’t decide between the white chocolate and milk chocolate Oreo bars, so I simply won’t. 10/10. Grenade Bars – Best to Worst It makes a nice change and it’s certainly better than the Chocolate Crunch the brand brought out a couple of years ago, but I’d go for the Fudge Brownie bar over this any day. Peanut Butter and Jelly – 9/10 Basically, the banana flavour is the artificial flavour that’s a just that little bit too strong to be real banana.

These Oreo cookie bars should be stored in an airtight food storage container. They will last at least three days, but they do become more dense the longer they’re kept. They do not freeze well.I baked mine for 25 minutes, and they still looked slightly squishy, but because my oven is brand new its VERY hot so mine could have done with only 20 minutes!

ALLERGY ADVICE: With the Carb Killas, Grenade have managed to produce a bar which genuinely tastes like a chocolate bar. I’m not even lying, it’s amazing. Texture-wise, it’s pretty similar to the other Grenade bar flavours, except the creme offers a smoother, creamier, texture than Grenade’s usual caramel layer and the Oreo pieces are less crunchy than the crispies found on the likes of Caramel Chaos and Jaffa Quake. Oreo Cheesecake Bars are always a huge it when I make them, why not take a chance and try them out for yourself?! Microwave white baking chips on half power (very important) until melted, stirring every 30 seconds. What’s more, it manages to maintain Grenade’s usual, pretty solid macros – 21g protein, 20g carbs, 10g fat and just 1g of sugar, all for 233 kcal. Actual magic!
