The wide-angle adjustment from 0°to 330° horizontally and -7 to 120° vertically, improving the shooting efficiency in bounce flash. V1 also supports software updates via USB.

With the bare flash pointed directly at my light meter, the V860II measured f/8.7 while the V1 measured f/8.8. Inside my 173cm umbrella, the V860II gave me f/8.7 and the V1 a solid f/8.5. Two-tenths of a stop never killed anyone. I'm really impressed with the size of the unit barely changing with these comparisons. Recycle Time I follow Thern in this one. I had a few Nikon flashes in the past but now it is Godox all the way (350-860-200-350-600's). These along with a trigger and you are all set for an unbeatable price. That's for a pair of RC units only compatible with the latest Nikon DSLRs and Zs with a max reach of 100ft vs 330ft and comptability with every DSLR Modifiers: while they attempted to give consumers the added bonus of offering magnetic modifiers for the round head, they missed the mark with the color accuracy (CTO gels are way too green) and the “dome” barely makes a difference. I instead attached a MagGrip to my V1 and use MagMod modifiers with it. TWO YEAR WARRANTY: This product comes with two year warranty meaning that we will repair or replace (at our option) this item if it develops a fault of any kind during the warranty period. The V1 sets itself apart from other options on the market by its sheer versatility. Capable of doing almost everything a regular speedlight does, it is also able to operate in a studio and to provide better illumination than a rectangular head. When bouncing the flash, the round head doesn’t matter much, but for direct illumination, or when going through modifiers (softboxes, gobos) the V1 will excel. Ensure that your flash is the appropriate size and weight for your camera and other equipment. If a flash is too large or heavy, it can be bulky to carry and use. In contrast, if a flash is too small, it may not be able to provide you with the power and features you need. Recycle time and power output. If one can live with the somewhat lesser quality ,let's assume it is, but just wants a speedlight for occasional use the difference in money involved together with the added features is hard to neglect. It allows the camera to measure the light coming through the lens and adjust the flash power output accordingly, so you don’t have to change the flash settings manually. This feature makes it easy to get the right amount of light for your photos without additional effort. It’s important to note that your camera and flash must have this feature for TTL to work correctly. When buying a Godox flash for a Nikon camera, you should look at the TTL feature. The number of flash groups and channels Imo the high pricepoint is 'just' allbeit still really steep justified by its ability to (be) radiocontroll(ed).

Godox is going strong with their innovations for flashtechnology they didn't steal it from Nikon because they passed Nikon some years ago allready. The third benefit comes when using grids. By attaching a grid, we restrict the direction that our flash beam is able to travel in. The round shape of the V1's beam offers the ability to create spotlight-style lighting just like a studio strobe with a reflector and grid would. I hope you have enjoyed reading my Godox V1 review. If you are hoping to buy this flash then I hope my thoughts will help you make up your mind.High-speed sync can be achieved up to 1/8000s, and a first curtain sync allows for creative Nikon photography. Capture stunning detail on a microscopic level with the Godox MF12 MF12-K2 12W macro flash. This powerful and lightweight flash unit, designed specifically for macro photography, makes it possible to capture small objects and intricate details with remarkable clarity. The adjustable head angle and focus distance give you complete control over exposure, while intuitive controls make it easy to set up and use with a Nikon camera. Built-in Godox 2.4G wireless X system offers all-in-one function and great compatibility with other devices working in this system (lamps, transmitters, etc.) In fact, up to four wireless groups can be controlled in a master/slave configuration so that the settings made in V1 are duplicated on the slave lamps.

I’ve owned the Godox V1 for close to a year now and I’ve used it at every single wedding I’ve shot. While many people have made a huge deal about the round-head, I am here to review the Godox V1 as a whole: what makes it different from a regular flash, how I use during weddings, and why it might just be the permanent on-camera flash solution you’ve been looking for. Godox V1 | Pros I like what Godox have tried to do with the magnetic rim. Ie. To try and compete with Magmod. However, I’ve found in the real world that the AK-R1 kit falls well short of the well designed and well thought out Magmod system. For example, the grid doesn’t narrow the beam well enough. The AK-R1 white card makes up for the fact the V1 doesn’t have a white card built in. But in practice it's a pain to have to carry it around and it then falls off constantly in the bag. The best tool is the dome which I love using instead of the Magsphere. So much lighter and more convenient. The Snoot....gels, barn doors, I never use them Modeling Light: this is a great tool to have when you are working in tight spaces and can’t set up your flash on a stand when you need the smallest bit of continuous light (lighting rings, highlighting small areas in the frame, etc.). You’ll read later how this is also a Con for this particular flash. If you remember, at the start I said the main reason I rushed out to buy the V1 was because I was hopeful that Godox would fix the weak hotshoe issue that plagued the Godox v860ii for Sony. This is certainly true, and Nikon should offer a lower-priced radio-controllable flash. I do agree that the SB-5000 is beyond the happy-to-pay price range for most users. Multi-flash Setup: The MF12 can function as a multiple-flash unit when attached to the mounting ring and can extend its use much further than when used alone. The combination of flashes can handle several scenarios. As a final note, 2.4G wireless technology enhances your shooting flexibility and enables long-range transmission for your Nikon camera. It is important to note that recycling time refers to the amount of time it takes for the flash to recharge after it has fired. Faster recyclability means less waiting between shots. Power output, measured in guide numbers, indicates how bright the flash will be. Look for a flash with a fast recycling time and high power output to suit your specific needs. Through The Lens (TTL)

My retailer showed me the A1X 'speedlight', it's a beautifull made but large unit which I see more as a highly portable studioflash than an allround speedlight.

GODOX เปิดตัวแฟลชหัวกลม V 1 ท้าชน  Profoto A1

The SB700 is a nice but former gen speedlight only capable to do CLS using IR with its limitations. I understand that Godox has the advantage of a greater degree of interoperability of old and new flashes, old and new camera bodies, and across different manufacturers' products (than e.g. Nikon flash technology has). This is of value and if I used or had a business which uses a lot of different manufacturer's flash technology, I might choose to take advantage of that. I also understand that Profoto has been a lot more innovative with the A1 than e.g. Nikon have with their speedlights. And to get ahead, Nikon need to bring out a superior product since they can't compete with Godox on price. Reliable Performance: Thanks to its dimly lit environment, it ensures reliable and more efficient performance at lower light levels, making it possible to take better photos. It also has an impressive power output range of 22 steps that can be adjusted from full power down 1/1 to 1/128th for your free adjustment. Overall, this is the best Godox flash for Nikon Z5, Z6ii, Z30, Z50, D3500, D5600, D7500, and other camera users.
