Description

To avoid the cracking between the laces and the toecap - get boots that are one size too big and stuff them with paper, aim your blowtorch at the area between the toecap and the laces and heat the leather until it shrinks. Ingredients: beeswax, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, hemp seed oil, coconut oil, vitamin E (to extend shelf life and prevent rancidity). The sole itself and where the boot is covered by my pantleg look nearly new, but the toe and seam are shot.

Evidence of its use is traced back as far as ancient Egypt, where beeswax figurines have been found in tombs. Choose the appropriate Nikwax product based on the shoe material, and apply it with a sponge or cloth, paying attention to seams.

Cover the whole of the upper using a clear or white candle, once completely covered, use a hairdryer to melt the wax into the shoe. This is a great way to get improve the longevity of those old boots and make them more water resistant. This has a little less beeswax than the Natural Beeswax Polish, so it’s easier to work into leather. But, before your go wild waxing up all your expensive footwear – you need to understand a bit more about the outcome. While nothing will make your shoes waterproof forever, there are things you can do to make them more water resistant. Secondly, feeding and conditioning the leather, making it much softer, with a luxurious soft satin finish.

The natural water repellency properties of this wax from bees are very evident when applied to materials using a little heat. It’s as simple as rubbing the wax all over the shoe, then using a hairdryer to melt the wax into the fabric. But, be sure you do not choose one that is wax-coated…LOL Duh, I didn’t really think that would work did I? And the maintenance doesn’t stop there… To keep your feet nice and dry this winter, as well as nice and clean, you should try to stick to a cleaning routine.

Pop them in let the leather warm up - just warm not hot to touch - and apply the Sno-seal liberally. If you’re having problems with your leather shoes, you can always use Vaseline to waterproof your shoes temporarily. the purpose of the beeswax is to penetrate and harden the leather giving you a solid base to apply, layer and shine with polish.I have recently (against my better judgment ) posted how it is done to best effect even though I earn a living doing this (and some other things obviously) I am happy to share the knowledge.
