Whispers of the Stolen Ones This is a follow up to Silent Scream. This is a book that makes for fantastic reading and clearly shows Angela’s mastery in crime stories. This story revolves around the mutilation in the brutal murder of a rapist. Eventually more killings come to light calling for more investigation because someone more sinister is at work. The investigations soon gain momentum and Kim finds herself endangered at the center of a lethal individual doing their own twisted experiment. This is basically a sociopath who knows Kim’s every weakness endangering every move Kim makes. Soon body count mounts and investigations intensify. When a woman dies under very questionable circumstances, Kim discovers that the victims were all linked to Russells Hall Hospital—the hospital where Gordon worked.

The plot in this book is quite breathtaking and will have you on the edge of your seat. This is a crime fiction but with a mix of psychological thriller. In this thriller Detective Kim Stone is not just a cardboard cutout cop, she is different due to her great work ethic. More of her character is revealed in this book as she goes head-to-head with this sociopath. This character grows exceptionally as the story progresses in this series. Going up against a deranged killer who is seemingly aware of all her weakness, Detective Kim needs to proceed with caution, given how every move could be lethal. And don't get me started on her relationship with her boyfriend whom she seems to have completely hidden from her parents, yet at one pint in the book they were talking on the telephone every night! This is a fantastic novel by Angela Marsons. It has twists and turns blending with wit and emotion. Detective Kim Stone embarks on a hunt for a ruthless killer and the clues she unearths are become personal. They have a common bond with the victims but Stone is determined to find justice regardless of the outcome. Alex, the youngest, utterly refuses to face the brutality of her childhood. Instead, she finds comfort in liquor. As D.I. Kim Stone and her team get to work, the gradually realize that their chances of rescuing the girls are growing slimmer by the hour. When the lifeless body of a local drug addict is however discovered, D.I Kim Stone immediately realizes that a serial killer is at work. However, I thought it was a very well written book and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a historical fiction book which explores the difficult topic of children who were stolen from their families in Poland and adopted in Germany. I thought it was well handled and would thoroughly recommend this book. In the context of such changes, Noyce's and Olsen's assertions about the non-political nature of the film become more pertinent. Based on a true story it may be, but it is drama rather than documentary, an accurate summing-up of collective experience rather than a meticulous detailing of one personal history.

The line is a reference to the thousands of part-Aboriginal children who were forcibly separated from their families and assimilated into white society during the 20th century. Aboriginal activists have been pressing the government for years to apologise, but Abetz turned the issue on its head by demanding that the film-makers apologise to the government. "They're asking me to apologise for the poster?" asked Noyce. "Maybe they could apologise to our indigenous citizens." When a nineteen-year-old boy, Jamie Mills, is found hanging from a tree in a local park, his death is ruled a suicide. Detective Kim Stone’s instincts tell her something isn’t right – but it’s not her investigation and her temporary replacement is too busy waiting for the next big case to be asking the right questions. When a handwritten letter from the serial killer finds its way to Kim’s desk, the team soon learns that there is nothing random about the killings.A few days later, a second victim is discovered killed in a similar manner. Furthermore, there is no trace of her young son. In the novel, Mollie's parents appear submissively resigned to their fate, and only turn to beating themselves in despair after their children have gone. But more violent abductions were frequent and well-documented, and it is little surprise that the film-makers were attracted by the more dramatic possibilities of kidnapping.

Part of the anger, according to Olsen, comes down to the fact that, unlike the frontier massacres, the stolen generations affected people living today. "The reaction didn't surprise me at all," she says. "The film was dangerous to people because it is demonstrably true. The two oldest girls are still alive. The documentation about why they were taken is still complete."And when more sinister killings take place, Kim realizes that this is undoubtedly the work of a more ominous figure. Gripped me so deeply… I am 100% addicted… read within 24 hours. Kim Stone is my idol… Totally compelling, addictive.’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I didn’t expect her mum to have been the one working in the nazi camp, that proper threw me and made me see how from the begging there were sings of the mum being the one involved but you wouldn’t have known unless you read to the end.

Catherine, the eldest, did her best to become accomplished despite having a troubled upbringing. Underneath the perfect exterior however lies a secret that could destroy her whole world. Even though this is a fiction book, in reality these things did happen, and it refreshed everything I ever learned about the war and enhanced my understanding of other things. Which I won’t discuss because it would spoil the book! As the story of the baby’s abandonment takes an ominous turn, another young woman mysteriously vanishes. The action as well as intrigue sets immediately you start reading the novel. Eventually 10 murders occurring in the previous and present years are what Detective Stone is set to investigate. Meanwhile you are introduced to a cast of characters which is quite large. Detective Kim Stone, the protagonist here has had a difficult upbringing which left scars on her. Her minimal social skills as a result of her upbringing cannot stop her from coming to the aid of suffering innocents. The death of a headmistress who is found strangled is one of many. Later human remains are found at a former children’s home in Crestwood. These remains lead Detective Stone into the hunt for a murderer who has been active for many years. But running this investigation will need her to come into terms with her past. Having struggled to share her work with her readers for a quarter of a decade, Angela was eventually signed by a small, dynamic publisher just when she was about to give up on her lifelong dream.
