I Mixed this powder up for my hair, as well as for my hands and feet. Yielded a beautiful stain after leaving it on for 5 + hours and a very short dye release (2 ish hours). I only wish they'd had a more recent harvest, I find the smell of henna gets worse and worse with age, but it stains just as dark as the 2022 batch i made before this. Directions: Mix henna with warm to hot distilled water and allow to sit 3-4 hours for dye release. Prewash your hair with one of our hair washes or shampoo bars. Apply onto damp hair strands and allow to remain in your hair for 3-4 hours for a full color treatment and to cover grey hairs. When doing a henna hair strengthening mask leave in hair 1-2 hours. Use a heat cap if you would like to cut the time it stays in your hair in half. Rinse out with our cleansing cowash then moisturize, dry and style as usual for best results. To remove: I just remove the head gear, step in the shower and use my removable shower head to gently rinse all the henna mud from my hair. Don't shampoo or condition. Just water. IF you must, you can use a detangler. The first day or so, the color will seem a bit bright but then it will settle a little darker. I make sure the rinse the shower curtain and shower to make sure I didn't leave any mess anywhere.

For hair usage, it takes about 4-5 hours to develop and for skin, it can take up to 3 hours. Some henna artists left their henna mixture overnight, which offers a reddish-burgundy tone the next day. Mix about 2 cups of pure henna powder (beware of chemicals or additives, must be pure and natural) with lemon juice and warm tea or coffee (I do this for a deeper color). Let set for 15-24 hours until the dye releases (you can tell because when you mix it, you'll see a darker color on top).
