I have posted a review for HP before and I’m now on my 4th bottle so it’s definitely safe to say that this is one of my signature scents at this point.

My nose rediscovered this scent this year and while it's not the same powerhouse it was when it first came out- it still has a soft spot in my heart. Seeped in extreme natural tones, Hypnotic Poison Eau de Parfum draws its strength from powerful absolutes. Hypnotic Poison was such a smoky intensive vanilla, it used to leave an unmissable scent trail everywhere I walked. So HP opens with a deep, dark, and juicy stone fruit note which quickly gives way to rootbeer accord (the combination of almond, caraway, and coconut) with a sliver-moon of smoky tobacco/cigarette ash that I never noticed before, beaming through at me, making it interesting. Has fantastic performance, and although the performance isn't as nuclear as it once was, for me it's still a one-spray-wonder.Edit, just realised this says launched in 2014 but I smelled it way before then, I'm sure of it, so I might be mistaking this for another earlier version of HP. Exuding a brazen, conquering spirit, Hypnotic Poison is an intriguing Oriental fragrance that breaks with convention. Some people also get notes of fruit, smoke/incense or something fresh, but I did not get that on my skin.

I don’t know the older formulation (EDT) but I can tell the new bottles are awful in terms of longevity and sillage although it’s still one of the best fragrance in the community.Top notes are Licorice and Almond; middle notes are Jasmine Sambac and Orange Blossom; base notes are Vanilla and Tonka Bean. I looked for something mature and sexy, something that would make 15 year old me feel like a dark enchantress. I alluded to this with Angel, as well, but this is where gourmands begin to become truly interesting for me.
