Description

Truffles are minimal in ingredients, so make sure to start with a high quality chocolate and one that is preferably at least 60% cacao. The quality of the chocolate will heavily impact the flavor. To start, open Guinness Imperial Gingerbread Spiced Stout while you prepare this so that it flattens a bit.A selection of the original Guinness chocolate truffles. A crisp milk shell with a Guinness truffle centre. A great gift to share with friends. 320g of truffles are included.

If using double cream, add it and beat until you have a spreadable consistency. If using whipping cream, whisk first to soft peaks, add a couple of spoonfuls into the cream cheese mixture and once this is combined, fold in the rest. When the cake's cold, sit it on a flat platter or cake stand and get on with the icing. Lightly whip the cream cheese until smooth, sieve over the confectioners' sugar and cornstarch and then beat to combine. Take a teaspoon and make small balls out of the truffle mix and press down slightly to make them into little patties on a tray lined with baking parchment. Come on, for a chocolate recipe these Guinness Truffles are at least a tiny step towards the healthy side. That has to be better than falling into the deep dark pit of despair that means no treats forever! Ingredients for Guinness truffles Beyond the sip—you guessed it—I created these gold dusted truffles with some. It’s rich, decadent and most of all – SO EASY TO MAKE! These truffles are made for gifting. What more can I say? Make some, gift some and spread the holiday joy!

Now on to the chocolate. You will want to use a bain marie/double boiler to melt your chocolate. You can also use a microwave should you happen to have one. We don’t as ours blew up almost ten years ago and we decided to hold off replacing it till we felt we actually needed one. Guess we never have. You can also just use heat-proof bowls over a pot of simmering water. Make sure the water doesn’t actually touch the bottom of the bowl though. If you’re making your truffles ahead of time, plan to re-roll just prior to serving, as the ganache will gradually absorb the cocoa powder. Allow truffles to come up to room temperature prior to serving. Truffle Variations What could be more Irish than gorgeous Guinness and throwing chocolate into the mix just makes almost anything a wee bit more special. Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Vegetable Oils (Palm Oil, Sal Oil, Shea Oil, Cottonseed Oil, Mango Oil, Rapeseed Oil, Sunflower Oil), Glucose Syrup, Guinness Beer (6%) (contains Barley, Gluten), Cocoa Butter, Dried Whole Milk, Neutral Spirit, Dried Skimmed Milk, Dextrose, Flavourings (Malt Beer, Vanilla), Humectant (Sorbitol Syrup), Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin). First comes the Guinness. In a small pan heat the Guinness with the sugar till it has completely dissolved. Meanwhile have the white chocolate melting in a clean bowl over the simmering water. Allow this to cool and then drizzle it all over your Guinness Truffles. I like to think the white chocolate looks like the creamy head you get on top of a glass of Guinness. Don’t cover the truffles completely just swish it over them.
