I received this cookbook last week and made three recipes out of it over the weekend. I feel like I’ve been cooking non-stop for the last six months and was eager to have some new options. There are several more recipes that my family is planning on making. The five stars are because we all (3 generations, five of us) found recipes we want to eat, and the three recipes I made turned out great. Here’s what you need to know: Gordon James Ramsay, OBE, is a British chef, television personality and restaurateur. He has been awarded a total of 16 Michelin Stars, and in 2001 became one of only three chefs in the United Kingdom to hold three Michelin stars at one time. Ramsay currently ranks 3rd in the world in terms of Michelin Stars behind Joël Robuchon and Alain Ducasse. Make Gordon's tasty shrimp and pasta dish with plenty of Parmesan, chilli and cherry tomatoes. Delicious! I may seek out some of the specialty items just because I’m a curious foodie. There is a wide variety of recipes and beautiful photos with each recipe. I need the photos for inspiration! Serves 2. Not all of them have been created by a global superstar chef who has built his reputation on delivering the very best food -- whether that's the ultimate fine dining experience at his 3 Michelin-star Restaurant, Gordon Ramsay, or the perfectly crafted burger from his Las Vegas burger joint. I was wrong on both counts! The recipes in this cookbook, from beginning to end, are just like the ones in the fancier cookbooks of Ramsay's: super intense, complicated recipes for foods I'd never get anywhere near! They might only take 1/2 an hour to cook, but they're still complex, to me, and the end results look so very unappealing. I don't know what led me to believe that even a cheeseburger made by Gordon Ramsay would be good--it looks too froo-froo for me, no way I'd touch that! The pictures were pretty, but that's about all I can say in favor of this one.

The highlight was the dessert section, which also provided many keto-friendly choices. The other significant point was the beautiful photographs of the featured recipes. Courgetti with meatballs is filling and comforting, like a normal bowl of spaghetti, but it’s brilliant for upping your veg intake without compromising on flavour or texture. Cooking everything together in one pan has some great advantages – all the prep work is done up front, so you can get on with other things once it’s in the oven, the flavours really come together as they cook and there is only one pan to wash up when you’Shawarma is the name of the vertical spits of meat you see in Arabic restaurants, normally eaten in pitta bread with tabbouleh, cucumber and tomato and topped with houmous or tahini. This is my twist on the classic American ‘mac ‘n’ cheese’, using a trio of English cheeses. Mature Cheddar adds a tangy depth of flavour to the base, while the crumbly Lancashire and Cheshire cheeses melt into a smooth and creamy sauce. To start, I think the 30-minute time frame is a bit ambitious. It does not include the required prep time for many of the recipes. Again, this is another cookbook calling for ingredients that are not readily available to the average human.

Create chef-quality food without spending hours in the kitchen -- these are the recipes and straightforward tips you need to make good food fast. I love Gordon Ramsay shows. His voice comes through in the writing of this cookbook - it is authentically him. Book Genre: Adult, Cookbooks, Cooking, Culinary, Food, Food and Drink, Foodie, Nonfiction, Reference Really great everyday cookbook. Photos for each recipe, helpful tips and some ideas for changing things up too. The best chapter for me was meat and fish. This isn’t five stars because there’s no nutritional info and some of the ingredients might be tough to find. Tips: The hotter the potato when you put it through the ricer, the fluffier the mash, so move fast once the potatoes have been drained.

I sadly found the photography to be less polished (and artistic) than I have grown accustomed to, but the recipes themselves more than make up for that (and at least the recipes each get a picture so you still get a good sense of the dish)! I loved watching Gordon Ramsay on TV during the first four or five seasons of Hell's Kitchen! My husband and I always thought it would be so cool to be dining in one of his restaurants (never happen) and have it happen to be on a night when they're filming a competition. But I've never gotten my hands on any of his cookbooks and really looked at his recipes. I always figured they'd be too fancy and complicated.
