Simpler games like Angry Birds Friends run well. So, while it’s not a gaming tablet, it’s especially suitable for casual games. Software: Android näyttö läpäisee TÜV Rheinlandin matalan sinisen valon testin (pois lukien värilämpötilan säätöosa).

In my battery test, the Honor Pad X8 got a runtime of 6.25 hours – which is a bit meager, especially considering the relatively dark display. For this test, I always run an HD YouTube video in an endless loop. Honor Pad X8 Review: My Conclusion There’s 128GB storage, which isn’t too bad for a tablet of this price, and will likely be enough for most users – if you do need more, though, a microSD card slot gives you up to 512GB extra space. Honor Pad 8 software charger and cable. Actual charging speed may vary depending on environmental conditions and other factors. The performance is sufficient in real-world use. Chrome, YouTube, Feedly and even Office apps can be used smoothly – even a bit of multitasking is possible. We also have the 4 GB RAM to thank for that. The Honor Pad X8 is powered by a MediaTek MT8786 processor, which is supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The storage is generous for this price range, as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 only has 3GB and 32GB in the cheapest version. Unfortunately, there is no LTE option.

The Honor Pad X8 has a 10.1-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels – roughly Full HD. I consider the resolution sufficient for a 10-inch screen. However, it’s also clear that you can see pixels when you hold it directly in front of your nose. The data comes from the HONOR Laboratory. Actual data may vary depending on the configuration, manufacturing process, and measurement method. I think the Magic UI is okay, but not as good as Samsung’s OneUI, for example. There are also some in-house apps preinstalled, but they are much weaker than apps like Samsung Notes. Overall, the display is okay. It’s fully laminated, the viewing angles are nice and wide, and colors are reproduced properly. It could be a bit brighter for outdoors, but if you use it indoors for the most part, the brightness is okay. In the 3D Mark Wild Life test, however, it’s slightly weaker than Samsung and also weaker than the Xiaomi Redmi Pad, which often costs just a bit more.

The Pad X8 can hold its own quite well against similarly priced rivals in benchmarks like Geekbench 5 and the 3D Mark Wild Life test. In Geekbench 5, it’s a bit more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 and the 3rd generation Lenovo Tab M10. The graphics performance is even significantly higher than the 12-inch Honor Pad 8. Let’s move on to the software. The Honor Pad X8 runs Android 12 out of the box, and Magic UI version 6.1 sits on top of it. This is Honor’s own interface, which is still very reminiscent of Huawei’s interface. The two manufacturers used to be one, but are not anymore. The Honor tablet has a 5MP front and 5MP rear camera. Of course, you’re probably not buying this for photography, because even a dirt-cheap phone has better snappers, but they’re fit for purpose. So, is the Honor Pad X8 a tablet worth getting? Well, it’s not particularly exciting. Overall, the Honor Pad X8 is a solid tablet – almost all features are solid. But it is not outstanding either. Software is the make-or-break feature for tablets, and the Honor-designed Magic UI sadly falls down onto the ‘break’ side of things. Our main gripe with the Honor Pad 8 is that it felt slow – slower, in fact, than other similar-priced slates.
