Rec.Quality options corresponding to RAW video data output will be displayed when [Menu]>[Video]>[Image Format]>[HDMI RAW Data Output] is turned ON. A thirty-second exposure as the sun sets behind lower Manhattan. The weather was odd that day, and sunset had a sort of apocalyptic feel. Not bad for "femtio öre". So I buy it all, save possibly for what you say about the comparison between the 20 and its Leica M counterparts, which I think is not that far-fetched. As you can see from the links below, the 20 on an E-M5 is roughly on a par in terms of sharpness with a Summilux 50/1.4 (or Summicron 50/2 if you want) on an M9. The reason the AF is mentioned so much is because that is the weakness. That's pretty much it. It's an absolute gem of a lens otherwise. If they came out with a 20mm f1.7 III with AF like the 15mm f1.7 then I think this would be a lens with zero "cons" on the review summary. Or if the 17mm f1.8 had optics like the 20mm f1.7, that would work too!

Compatible lenses: H-XA025, H-ES200, H-E08018, H-X1025, H-HSA12035, H-ES12060, H-FS12060, H-X2550, H-HSA35100, H-FSA45200, H-ES50200, H-FSA100300 and H-RS100400 The Olympus 17mm f/1.8 might not be a bad idea - I'll have to look into it - but I was avoiding it because I own the 17mm f/1.2. Completely different lens class and design, but I hate to duplicate focal lengths for primes if I can get away with it. I'm guessing the 15mm f/1.7 wouldn't stand up to the m.Zuiko Pros, despite being Leica-branded, but with its compact size it really doesn't have to. I'd get it specifically for the size, but being a different focal length helps to further justify it a bit, in my mind... Both of these lenses are very well made and feel solid in the hand. The Panasonic does have an all plastic build (with the exception of the mount) but it still feels like a quality item. The focus ring turns with just the right amount of weight and it attaches to both my Olympus OM-D and Panasonic GF-1 with a smooth a reassuring clunk. As nice as the Panasonic is, the Olympus does trump the Panasonic’s build with a body that is almost entirely made of metal. The Olympus 17mm is noticeably larger and heavier than the Panasonic 20mm, but it shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for those looking for a compact normal prime lens. Shooting assist functions including V-Log L View Assist, Luminance Spot Meter, and Zebra Pattern can be used during RAW output. The 20mm is also a nice focal length but the Panasonic 20mm has a history of slow and noisy autofocus,

I am pleased with the 17mm and pleasantly surprised with how well it copes with the sun in the frame - far better than my venerable 11-22. The AF complaints regarding the 20mm are absolutely NOT overblown if you intend to shoot with C-AF or want AF during video recording. The lens supports neither of those features. They're cheaper than PL 15/1.7 but also work well as hybrid Still/Video lens as well. 20/1.7 is good STILL photo lens, but not a hybrid video lens. You're satisfaction with 20/1.7 highly depends on how much video you shoot. In term of AF speed, all other 4 lens focus faster than 20/1.7. 20/1.7 is one of the oldest M43 lens and AF motor hasn't been improved. Yes I have seen that comparison between the two lenses. And a host of others since I was interested in the 17/1.8 when it appeared. In the end, I decided to keep the 20/1.7 I already had instead.

I will say that the 25mm f1.7 is gaining a bit of a reputation for inconsistent AF (as in lens reporting focus but not being in focus an abnormally high percentage of the time). So I'd say that's way worse than slower but more accurate. The BGH1 is the LUMIX’s first box-style camera exclusively designed and developed for professional use. To support a growing need of live streaming, the BGH1 will provide an IP streaming function that enables distant, high-quality image transmission to the social streaming platform online with PC connection over wired LAN. Notably, the LUMIX BGH1 is a unique camera that can stream 4K 60p (50p) video in H.265. The H.265 realizes half the bitrate while keeping the image quality the same as H.264, which means it can provide 2x higher image quality at the same bitrate as H.264. Streaming in ultra-high definition 4K at low bitrate is possible even in the cases where the bandwidth is not broad enough. Ergonomics Winner: My personal preference is the Panasonic due to it’s weight and size, but I would have to call a draw on this one. Autofocus Yeah, I'd only use the 20mm in manual focus mode for video, probably. But I take video once every blue moon, and never with the 20mm mounted, so that's probably okay by me. Based on the review and some opinions I've read, the 20mm f/1.7 is a bit slower to focus, although the significance is subjectiveI was looking for a small general lens, so I got the 14, only to be surprised the 12-32 was better in almost every way (I wasn't expecting a kit lens to be any good). Still looking for something small and fast, I got the 20 and it works for me. I carry it along with the zooms. It is possible to start/stop recording on the external device with the BGH1 during HDMI/SDI output. There is no need of upgrading the camera with DMW-SFU2 if upgrading with DMW-SFU2 was once done before. Comprised of seven lenses in five groups, the new system uses two aspherical lenses to minimize both distortion and chromatic aberration, achieving incredibly high resolution corner to corner. The versatile 20mm focal distance (equivalent to 40mm on a 35 mm film camera) is suitable for wide variety of photography including scenery such as sunsets and dimly lit indoor shots taking advantage of its beautiful soft focus. It supports the Contrast AF system for high precision auto focusing. The image quality produced is acceptable. Itsa sharp in the center and produces little vignetting, distortion or chromatic aberrations. Contrast and color are also very crisp and vivid.
