Description

The Revo SuperSystem sound quality is so compelling that it makes the machine one of the top-performing all-in-one systems on the market. Of more interest is how the Revo converts these signals to sound. The SuperSystem is built around a pair of 3 inch BMR drivers that fire forwards. BMR is an acronym for Balanced Mode Radiator and this is something that Revo has been working on for a little while. Technically, a BMR is two drivers in one. The front of it is a panel section that produces high frequency signals by passing an electrical current across the panel section exciting it to produce soundwaves. This is then augmented by mounting the panel on a conventional pistonic mount that allows it to produce far more bass than would be the case. They are based in the Scottish market town of Lanark, and have won several awards for the performance and design of their products since having been founded in 2004.

As well as the internal features, the SuperSystem boasts a smattering of additional inputs – one optical and one RCA analogue. There is also a digital output and a wired LAN connection if you find yourself in a place with weak wireless. The chances are that these features won't see a huge amount of use but they give the scope to connect a TV or other external source to the SuperSystem and boost the functionality a little further. The Revival iStream 3 is a compact radio (11 x 16 x 25.5 cm) with a beautiful retro design and great sound quality. Finally, for those who still enjoy listening to the venerable Compact Disc alongside today’s wireless and streaming sources, Revo offers the SuperCD. The R1 Mk3 is the cheapest and simplest radio in Ruark’s lineup. However, this doesn’t mean it’s cheap and basic! Revo is a specialist designer of digital audio devices, founded in 2004 by David Baxter and Colin Urie and headquartered in the small Scottish market town of Lanark. Founded in 2004, Revo blends a winning combination of classic, mid-century design cues with practical, functional usability, as well as great audio quality. Some consumers believe that the quality of Roberts products has declined in recent years, but the brand still produces several high-end models with excellent sound quality. Revival iStream 3

There is a chunky plastic remote but the best way to wield and juggle all of these sources is via the app. There is no official app, but Revo uses the free Undok app to great effect.

The Revo has won multiple awards, including the What HiFi Best All-in-One System award in 2017. It also received the Red Dot Product Design award, which recognises good industrial design, innovation, quality and functionality.
