Canada, in December 2008, released it's very first Supercard for their Skyscrapers pack, the CN Tower, in a way similar to New Zealand when they joined the STT/Supercard bandwagon with their Sky Tower Supercard. Everyone then reads out the value of that attribute on their first card and whoever has the highest or best value wins all the first cards, collects them and places them at the bottom of their stack. Dubreq was taken over by Waddingtons in 1982, and they continued manufacturing packs until the early 1990s.

The two zoo packs were released in limited numbers as promotional materials for their namesake zoos.Around this time the Dubreq and FX Schmid partnership began to fail and the Top Trumps series were stopped. The basic idea of the program is that the two presenters, Robert Llewellyn and Ashley Haynes were to find out as many winning facts as possible and then go head to head in a Top Trumps style game where they pitch the fastest, longest and heaviest against each other.

The topics tended to reflect this, and included military hardware, modes of transport and racing cars. The Top Trumps Tournament concept was then taken to the nation where schools competed against each other in the Top Trumps Schools Tournament ending with just one boy or girl winning. Each card tells you the numbers for the categories above as well as a snippet of information about the car. However, in some instances, especially with the later Waddingtons packs there were no numbering at all and this is the case with the Winning Moves series'.There are multiple football packs released each year, for clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. For example did you know that even back in 1927 Bugatti positioned itself amongst the true automotive Elite, with just 6 examples of the “Royale” being built each with a near thirteen litre engine capable of reaching 100mph. For example, in a pack based on cars, each card shows a different model of car, and the stats and data may include its engine size, its weight, its length, and its top speed.

It is a safe bet to say that Waddingtons put Top Trumps on the map of gaming as the packs they released covered almost every subject from the naturally successful technical packs to the subjects that might be interesting to everyone including Cats, Dogs and Pets. Many of the newer packs (late 2008 onwards) have a " Summit Challenge" game on the reverse of the bar code card.

In 2006, and working in conjunction with the Haynes publishing group, Winning Moves launched a line of books under the Top Trumps brand, based around the design and concept of the card game. The Waddingtons involvement is by far the most important chapter in the Trumps history book in the UK, as it revived the trend and want for these games. The person whose card has the highest value wins the “trick” and the winner takes all the cards of the trick and places them at the bottom of his or her pile.Within just a few years Winning Moves had a few releases that proved hard to find such as Angela Anaconda, The Ashes 2005 (despite being a recent release) and 4 Promotional releases that come in the same kind of clear plastic case as the later Waddingtons packs and were the first titles released under Winning Moves - Exotic Cars, Porsche Cars, Racing Trucks and Turbo Cars. Over the next 10 or so years, the Ace series was less popular in some ways than the latter Dubreq titles. Mid 2009, it was announced that Winning Moves UK have been in discussions with parties to try and create a version of Top Trumps for the iPhone. If this happens, all players place their top card in the middle of the table and the turn remains with same the player who chose that attribute.
