Kauravan Conservator Regiment - At least two Sentinels were in use with the 252 nd Kauravan when its former commander was killed in combat against forces of the T'au Empire. Following his replacement by General Vance Stubbs, the regiment made extensive use of Sentinels as it fought to defend and retake the Kaurava System. Emperor's Talons Recon Company - An Emperor's Talons Recon Company is a Sentinel formation that consists of three squadrons of Sentinels, of any type, and a single formation leader, also of any type. The Sentinel formation leader is often a combat-hardened veteran, and they and their reconnaissance company are usually tasked with hunting down a specific enemy unit and destroying it. These Sentinels stalk their prey relentlessly, carefully crossing the battlefield and emerging from the shadows to strike down their target with the utmost efficiency. Evidenced by countless rejected proposals to reform the Administratum’s bureaucratic procedures, perfection cannot be improved upon. Nevertheless, the Emperor has seen fit to provide engineering refinements to the most noble and valued biped in the Astra Militarum.

The Steel Cobras were a formerly Loyalist Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes that was created during the 23 rd Founding. Unfortunately, their blasphemous worship of the Emperor of Mankind as an animal totem prompted a puritanical Crusade against them by the Ecclesiarchy, led by a particularly bombastic cardinal. Faced with such an assault by the Imperium, the Steel Cobras turned to the service of Chaos to gain the power needed to defend themselves. There are several different patterns of Sentinel depending on their Astra Militarum Militarum Regimento of origin, which further specialises one of the primary operational roles outlined above depending on local circumstances, tactical needs and military cultures.In the 41st Millennium the Astra Militarum usually equips its Sentinels with whichever weapons are most tactically useful for a given mission or campaign, but some regiments use their own standard pattern of Sentinel. Vendoland - The 85 th Vendoland made extensive use of Sentinels when it fought during the First Aurelian Crusade against an invading Tyranid splinter Hive Fleet of Hive Fleet Leviathan. However, the power claws of the Sentinel Power-lifter can be used as extremely effective melee weapons against enemy infantry in extreme circumstances. As any Guardsman should already be aware, the Sentinel has two variations – the front-line Armoured Sentinel, its blessed carapace nigh-impervious to harm, and the rapid-reconnaissance Scout Sentinel, which needs no protection save that which is provided by the Emperor’s grace.

Ciaphas Cain's Heroes - This ad hoc Perlian army's sole tech-priest, Enginseer Tayber, used a modified Sentinel Power-lifter as her personal vehicle. The walker's handling claws and maneuverability made it an excellent roadside service vehicle, while the Heavy Flamer and enormous fuel tank she installed made it a powerful combat unit in a pinch. The Imperial Sentinel can be armed with a wide variety of weapons. The original Sentinel design called for a completely open canopy and an Assault Cannon as the walker's standard armament, but eventually this design fell out of use in place of more common weaponry and an armoured or partially armoured canopy. Departmento Munitorum - The Departmento Munitorum uses the Sentinel Power-lifter as a logistics vehicle to transport and load ordnance for the Imperial Guard. The most common armament of the Sentinel originates on the Forge World of Mars and carries a Multi-Laser, with a partially armoured canopy. This Mars Pattern Scout Sentinel is used by regiments across the Imperium. Sentinels can also be equipped with Autocannons, Lascannons, Missile Launchers, Multi-Meltas, Heavy Flamers, Plasma Cannons, and Heavy Bolters. OK, here is the really odd one for me. Kasrkin. Up until this point Kasrkins have just been another name for Stromtroopers, I.E. Tempustus Scions. Rules-wise they are the same. So far at least this seems to be still true, the new models have hot-shot lasguns and carapace armor. At best they might have slightly different rules. What makes this such an odd choice is that Scions are some of the newest models in the Guard army. They are a whole fresh line. Why, given a limited number of units to remake, would you put out what is essentially new models for the newest units in the army? The Sentinel uses a robust and highly sophisticated gyro-stabiliser system that keeps the walker steady while traversing any terrain, including steep slopes and deep craters. The articulated legs of the Sentinel allow the walker to stalk quietly through urban ruins or dense undergrowth while still allowing it to achieve an impressive speed over open ground. Scout Sentinels have noise-reduction modifications applied to their power-plants to reduce the possibility of their movements being heard by the enemy. Elysian Drop Troop Regiment - Fought during the defense of Betalis III against the Asuryani of Craftworld Mymeara Tallarn Pattern - The Tallarn Pattern Sentinel is armed with a Multi-Laser. It has larger feet than the other Sentinel patterns to provide better balance on the loose sand of the battle zones it is used in. It normally is manufactured with only a partially armoured canopy because of the high heat experienced in Tallarn's desolate, desert environments. The Marines Errant are recorded as having the Eagle Warriors Chapter as their immediate forebears. The Eagle Warriors' gene-seed was drawn from the Ultramarines' lineage, although why the Eagle Warriors in particular were singled out for the honour of a "named" Founding being drawn from their ranks remains lost to posterity. The 23rd Founding of Space Marine Chapters, also known as the "Sentinel Founding," occurred during the latter part of the 37 th and early 38 th Millennia. Imperial scholars believe that the 23 rd Founding was one of a series of linked Foundings that took place during this tumultuous period in Imperial history and that they were intended to repair the power and reach of the Adeptus Astartes that had suffered considerable losses in the preceding millennia.
