The RAC is always looking for new ways to help you plan your journey. Our new maps feature adds to the functionality of the route planner to help find hotels, garages and car dealerships by location.The RAC map also enables you to display weather information for the UK so you can plan your journey based on the driving conditions. Where available, we also show you other mobility services like public transport, scooter or bicycle rentals and vehicle ride services. These mobility services are provided by third parties who have made their transport data publicly available or who have a partner agreement with us. Any partnerships or business relationships that we may have with any transport service providers do not influence the ranking of these services. Related resources When you enter a destination in Google Maps, we show you how to get there using different travel modes, like driving, cycling or walking. Sometimes, the transport options that we show you are ranked according to a combination of objective factors designed to help you find relevant and useful information. These factors can include duration, distance, price, your mode preference or the relevance of a mode to your query. Generally, the most important factors are your mode preference, trip durations and sometimes price. You can add up to 6 stages to your route. These stages will also be included in the ViaMichelin GPS app if you have saved your route in your Michelin account.

For every calculated route, ViaMichelin offers the choice of two or three itineraries and allows you to make an easy comparison. The route finder service provides maps and driving directions for the UK, Europe and beyond, as well as giving you the opportunity to find hotels wherever you're going in the UK. You can also generate directions that are fully integrated with customisable real-time traffic updates and our fuel cost calculator using the advanced options in the main Route Planner section. The functionality provides specific city driving maps for London and European route directions for longer trips abroad. The short (prioritising distance): this route option involves the shortest distance to reach the destination, whilst always remaining on passable roads. Michelin recommended: this route option focuses on safety, simplicity and minimising any risk of route errors. This is the default route that Michelin recommends.
