Culture abounds with the Landmark Theatre, catch a show and you could be anywhere, but step out onto the balcony at the interval and you could only be in Ilfracombe. The stunningSouth West Coast Pathstretches for miles in both directions so walkers can enjoy the wonderful scenery and breath-taking views all the way to Brixhamor Torquay. An ideal base for your dog friendly stay too, with so many walks on the doorstep! Paigntonbus and train stations are conveniently located in the centre of the town, just a short stroll from the beachfront. From here you can continue your journey to explore all the delights of South Devon. Catch the steam trainto Kingswear and then get on the passenger ferry to Dartmouth. Catch the luxuriously appointed Gold Bus to Torquayor Plymouth.

We first had a walk around the grounds followed buy a cup of tea. The waitress that served us very friendly and helpful. You’re spoilt for choice for long sandy beaches and safe shallow waters, which are the perfect place for the family to go for a dip or to try out paddleboarding. Why not try Paignton Sands, Goodrington Sands or Preston Sands? As you arrive in the traditional seaside resort of Paignton, you are metwith the welcoming sight of its long stretch of beautiful and easily accessible beachfront, promenade, traditional pier, colourful beach huts and green.Use the interactive tourist map of Devon to search for a range of local attractions, services and amenities. The county of Devon is located in south west England, the county is a long established holiday and short breaks destination offering visitors scenic coastline, seaside resorts, relaxed pace of life and relatively mild weather. Devon includes the popular Torbay area including the seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham sometimes referred to as the English Riviera. Made famous by Henry Williamson's book Tarka the Otter, the Tarka Trail is now a180 mile path with 32 miles of off road cycleway, allowing you to easily explore some of the biggest and best loved towns and villages in North Devon. Sitting in the centre of Tarka Country is Barnstaple, North Devon's oldest and largest town. Home of the historic Pannier Market and full of theatres, pubs, restaurants and shopping opportunities. Like many places in North Devon, Barnstaple, along with places like Great Torrington played an important part in the English Civil War and you can still find evidence of this in the buildings and museums around the Tarka Trail.

The great thing about Paignton is that it is a compact resort, with the seafront and town centre shops all within close proximity, making it an ideal Devon holiday resort for that relaxing break away.Once you arrive, you don't have to go far, but of course, there is plenty to see and do in the area if you wish to get out and about and explore. The county includes a number of scenic small towns and villages along with areas of scenic countryside and open spaces including the Dartmoor National Park and the Jurassic Coast. There are a number of historic houses, museums, gardens and attractions including, Hartland Abbey, Dartmouth Castle and Babbacombe Model Village. The county includes a number of attractions for visitors to explore, including a range of historic and family attractions. From one of the UK’s biggest zoos, Paignton Zoo, to the UK’s largest outdoor waterpark at Splashdown Quaywest, a Steam Railway with extraordinary views, and a beach front crazy golf course, you’ll sure to find something for everyone at Paignton. There are 7 rivers that run through Devon and many of our beautiful villages sit close to these rivers.The history and heritagethat can be found in all of Devon’s towns and villages will leave youspellbound and wanting to explore even more.Many of our attractions have won awards at a regional and national level and it’s not hard to see why, they really offer a fantastic experience! North Devon has a number of spectacular yearly festivals such as the North Devon Festival and the Goldcoast Oceanfest. We were asked to move to the Drawing Room at approx 1015pm, which if I'm honest, given we were only going to be 10 minutes or so more, could have waited. We've dined in very fine establishments and have never been asked to move so that they could make up the table for the next day. Another couple was asked as well who we were talking to. For an award winning beach, head to Woolacombe, its miles of golden sand are recognised as one of the top ten beaches in the world. It constantly wins accolades like Britain's Best Beach and with miles and miles to enjoy, you can always find the perfect space. Head through Georgeham and you'll find Putsborough, with great facilities, and a beach cafe that serves local produce.
