Description

The story itself shows Moorcock at his most spry, lovingly lampooning some of the themes of his other works, the romance genre, and English literary traditions in general.

They are also the initials of various "Eternal Champion" Moorcock characters such as Jerry Cornelius, Jerry Cornell and Jherek Carnelian. Elric is no stranger to chaos and is completely convinced that he has in fact been transported to a realm of chaos. The ending of the series is not a bad ending, but it feels as though it could have happened 300 pages earlier without changing anything. It's available as a collection or as individual books: An Alien Heat, The Hollow Lands, and End of All Songs. So when Jherek and the Iron Orchid picnic in one of the Shanalorm parks, they are completely isolated. He became editor of Tarzan Adventures in 1956, at the age of sixteen, and later moved on to edit Sexton Blake Library.

While his Dancers at the End of Time series falls within the Eternal Champion saga, it's much closer to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Hunted by the Lat, Jherek stumbles into a subterranean school built centuries ago to protect the last children of that era from the tyrant director Pecking Pa the Eighth.Only Werther De Goethe is mentioned as also having been born, implying that this trait is something of a rarity in this time period. Anybody familiar with, say, Amsterdam or Paris or New York, knows so very much of the vibrancy and pulse of the city comes from the sheer number of people out on the streets.

To his surprise, the judge appears to be none other than his friend, Lord Jagged, but claims to be one Jagger. She wore a tight-fitting grey jacket and a voluminous grey skirt which covered all but the toes of her black boots. In 1999, he was given the World Fantasy Life Achievement Award; in 2001, he was inducted into the SF Hall of Fame; and in 2007, he was named a SFWA Grandmaster. During this time, he occasionally wrote under the pseudonym of "James Colvin," a "house pseudonym" used by other critics on New Worlds.

However Jherek Carnelian, a bemused denizen of the End of Time, is in danger of taking reality too seriously, and grows tired of his pleasures. Jherek meets his future love, Amelia Underwood, at an extravagant party hosted by the Duke of Queens, the theme of which is "disaster". She has a small role in Moorcock's spy novel parody The Chinese Agent (1970), where she describes herself as a one-quarter Chinese former exotic dancer who used to perform a striptease under the name "Dawn Flower Ming, the Geisha Gusher".
