Description

Well, the Andis brand is always committed to providing strong blades for their hair trimmers and clippers. The primary difference with this trimmer and the Outliner 2 is the T-blade, thus the name T-Outliner. The T-blade extends over the head of the trimmer ever so slightly, giving you the ability to really work in the smallest of areas while ensuring a super clean cut every single time. The T-Outliner is a little louder. Again, because the T-Outliner uses a larger blade, it is a little louder than the Outliner 2. This probably won’t make or break your decision as it shouldn’t be noticeable enough for it to be an issue. Note that some electrical short potential (power) may still return via the neutral, particularly if there are issues with the appliance’s and/or the building’s electrical wiring. The reason for that is because they are simply one of the best when it comes to top performing hair cutting tools.

Therefore, when shaving with the Andis T Outliner, you need to ensure you don’t get too close to the skin to avoid cuts or injuries.Well, it’s a fact that the blades are unusually sharp which makes them even better for close and precise cuts. On the other hand, if you happen to be reading this in search of a professional trimmer to have at home, the Outliner 2 is a great choice if you do a lot of body trimming. Strong, fast motors with 7,200 SPM. The faster that the blades move, the smoother the cut. Lower SPM motors can actually grab/pull the hair, leaving for user discomfort and, at times, ingrown hairs.

If you do opt to use pre shave oil, make sure you clean the blade well afterwards. Especially if you will be using these in a barbershop. The fine teeth will easily get gunked up by the oil and hair mixture. As you go, it will slow down to the point that it will have a hard time cutting, so you really need to stay up on this. Hair is quite acidic and will also dull your blade over time if you don’t make sure it is cleaned off. While the Outliner 2 is great for close-up work, the T-Outliner is better. Not only can it get up close and personal with its zero-gap blade, but it can handle the details like nothing else. This involves toughening these steel blades with Carbon to ensure that users benefit from the strong blades’ efficiency and also durability. If you decide to use the T-Outliner with a T-blade for beard trimming, I advise you to throw preshave oil in the mix. It will allow for an even smoother, pleasure-filled experience. This Andis hair trimmer is also perfect for dry shaving, something other trimmers have some difficulties with. Make sure your blades are kept sharp either by sending them out to get sharpened or by sharpening them yourself.

More from Mike Medders

The overall winner is the T-Outliner for most jobs, especially if you find yourself doing a lot of intricate cutting. Power comes froma lithium ion battery that gives a non-stop run time of 100 minutes but recharges in just 60. The GTX-EXO can also be used on the cord, so you won't run out of power mid-trim.

Ultimately, the Outliner 2 is a great choice for all your trimming needs, and hits almost all of the right notes when it comes to a great trimmer. To ensure smoother hair cutting action, Andis tend strengthen their products’ blades with carbon. The T-blade of the T Outliner trimmer follows the same formula. Disclaimer: I am not a professional electrician. As such, I welcome constructive criticism/advise from professional electricians. First of all, it scores badly in terms of heating up . That’s a common issue with some of Andis barber clippers and trimmers. Some say it’s the byproduct of the high number of cutting strokes per minute, powered by the electromagnetic motor. No product is perfect and Andis T-Outliner definitely has some things you need to be aware of. Our Andis T-Outliner trimmer review is here to help.

Just make sure that at the end of the day you are giving it a good brushing with an old toothbrush or something similar. I like to also take off the blade and use a can of compressed air to blow out the loose hairs that get trapped underneath. Works on most hair types. Both trimmers are great for hair on the head, facial hair and chest hair but can easily be used on other parts of the body as well. If you need to do a lot of body work, we would suggest the Outliner 2 over the T-Outliner. Besides being great for close-up work, this is a very comfortable trimmer to hold/grip. The body is slightly rounded, and it has molded grooves which helps make sure that it doesn’t slip out of your hand, even if your hands are wet. It’s important to know that these trimmers are essentially the same but with different blades . Choosing one or the other will depend on what kind of hair cutting you’re trying to do.
