I’ve been using Liquid Gold now for a good month and even if the smell is a bit strange, I’m enjoying it more and more! Skin type? Recommended for all skin types, but works especially well for dehydrated or over-exfoliated skin

If you have sensitive skin, it’s your everyday life and I definitely feel for you! In my case, it means that my skin barrier, which is usually rather robust, is suffering at the moment. That’s why I’m looking for treatments that can restore my skin’s health and strength!Ingredients: Camellia japonica (Camellia) Seed Oil, Borago officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Perilla ocymoides (Perilla) Seed Oil, Squalane, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sclerocarya birrea (Marula) Seed Oil, Calophyllum inophyllum (Tamanu) Oil, Vaccinium macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Tocopherol. Stratia Rewind

This really is everything I look for in a moisturiser. It has Ceramides, Cholesterol and Fatty Acids, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Glycerin, Squalane – all important ingredients to support a strong, resilient moisture barrier. All these amazing ingredients are combined into one lightweight but hydrating cream. All of these work together to protect your stratum corneum and noursh your moisture barrier. Other ingredientsA year and a half later, I don’t use acids, Vitamin C, or retinol anymore (“too young,” she said of my skin!). It’s just hydration serums, oils, and barrier serums — and my skin is more resilient and comfortable to be in. On my best days, my skin is ridiculously unreal, in the “let me misspell everything” / “take a look at my no-makeup face!” way. I was expecting a bumpy road when I started tretinoin, but I think you have to experience it to realize how bumpy it can get! It can take time to adjust your skin to this ingredient, which is known to be very effective, but also very strong… Because this doesn’t disappear into the skin and remains on top of the skin (if you use a good amount of product) that does mean you’re left with an oily/greasy layer on top which is wonderful for the PM (although be careful of pillow if you sleep on your front), and means that this wouldn’t feel comfortable on my skin as an AM moisturiser).

Heptapeptide-15 Palmitate: targets fibroblasts, the dermal cells that generate collagen and elastin (part of a targeting encapsulation system for Copper Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-14) Elizabeth wrote, “I am 42 and have patchy and rough skin. My daughter got this moisturizer for me; it has been my favorite since then. Hydration is a primary feature; it also acts as an anti-aging solution and fades away the appearance of wrinkles and crow’s feet. I am satisfied with the product.” e.l.f Pure Skin Moisturizer I’ve found that this is quite light and sinks into your skin well if you don’t apply too much. It doesn’t drag when you apply it like a more linoleic-rich oil, but also doesn’t feel like it’s dripping off my face either (a bit problem when you’re oily!). It has quite a strong musty oil smell – to me it isn’t unpleasant, but I can imagine it could bother some people. I’ve been mixing a couple of drops with Liquid Gold when my skin feels extra dry, and using it under tretinoin to try to reduce irritation – it’s working really well for both. I’ve also lent this to my sister to help with spironolactone-induced dryness and she loves it too! I found that it was actually fine at removing all my make-up, even on days when I wore medium coverage foundation. I still felt like I needed to use a cleansing oil first, mostly out of habit.I generally prefer foaming (or better yet, self-foaming) cleansers since they’re easier to spread and wash off your skin, but this one spreads really well and I didn’t have any issues rinsing it off, but I clean my face in the shower so it may not work as well over the sink.rc-container-wrapper .rc-template__legacy-radio .rc_widget__price { position: absolute; right: 0; } How it worked: And here’s where the other part of the title of this post comes into play. I have a long and glorious history of overexfolating my skin because…well, basically because that’s what I thought I was supposed to do. Physical exfoliants, all sorts of acids, inappropriately high strength retinoids…I would throw them all at my face at once every single day until literally my whole top layer of skin peeled off in sheets in the shower and I was shiny and red as a cherry. Even normally gentle products would sting like the devil, and I never questioned it because I honestly thought that’s how it was supposed to work. I’d fry the life out of my skin until I couldn’t handle it (so like 3-4 straight days of all this), then take a break for a week, maybe less, and then I’d start all over again. It was a roller coaster, let me tell you, and I did this for years. TL;DR: If your moisture barrier is damaged, this stuff will seriously change your life. Support an up-and-coming indie shop and repair your moisture barrier, all without breaking your wallet. When I started to realize that tretinoin was messing up my skin, I started looking for SOS treatments, to try to reduce the drying effect of the treatment.
