When his partner Nancy Dewar is found dead in a river, a series of murders commences that appear to be inspired by macabre illustrations in the fresco. James Harrington – Drunk on whiskey laced with valerian after getting drunk at home. He was then taken and drowned in a nearby slough. One of the most unusual Midsomer episodes given the fact that although the main plot has quite often something to do with a certain event in the past, this time it effectively triggers all the murders after some eight years without much warning.
