Perfect for (some) women as well - being a lover of colder, neutral scents, this fits me just right. then you see the renuizette cones with the plastic tops that slide up and reveal that weird gel scented stuff beneath. Bvlgari Pour Homme opens with a sharp musky, aromatic and woody accord with tea and some bright citrus.

Now BVLGARI's perfume catalog numbers upwards of seventy fragrances; but, when BVLGARI POUR HOMME hit the market, in 1996, there were only two! BLV as a whole is a beauty of a warm weather scent, with its' light florals, woods and fresh, spicy ginger. Very nice opening but then what I think is a huge amount of iso e super takes over and I smell little else. When I first tried this years ago, I thought it was just another boring fresh scent that didn't interest me in the slightest. This is like a nice soapy scent and what you get I assume is the galanga and the ginger and those two along with the green notes give you that soapy feel.I used to wear old versions, now reformulations are really light : projection is not that good as it used to be (very intimate one) and longevity is no longer than 2-3 hours in the summer. I believe it’s much softer and quite a bit less woody or spicy than the notes on this page would suggest.

I didn't wear it personally as i feel it's too manly for me but my brother uses this to office and this smells so good on him, even after he came back home. It smells very nice, beautiful and delicate, but I'm not sure if it's particularly well-suited for men. The opening is crystal clear thanks to the citrus notes and then the cyclamen, spices and exotic woods in the middle, musk, vetiver and tonka bean at the bottom, make it a timeless perfume: the magic formula for walking on clouds, there is an impersonator of Bvlgari, I think it's Chapeau by Borsalino, but Bvlgari is unattainable. Lasts some 6 to 8 hours, projects decently but not fantasticaly for some two of them and leaves a nice sillage, even if not for too long. BPH is a rather charming and very polite rascal beneath those starched collars and pressed trousers.

I consider it casual even though it’s probably too classy for that because it just smells to me like it belongs on someone in jeans an’ a tee relaxin’ and enjoyin’ ‘emselves. If I didn't know that the main note is ginger, I would have thought of this as a citrus based fragrance!

I couldn’t believe how much it was projecting off of me three hours later and all I was doing was just sitting there.

The smell upon application is fresh , clean and soapy, but the biggest problem is there absolutely 0 sillage and 0 longevity. Top notes are Tea, Aldehydes, Bergamot, Lavender, Nutmeg Flower, Orange Blossom and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Pepper, Iris, Guaiac Wood, Brazilian Rosewood, Coriander, Geranium, Cyclamen, Cardamom and Carnation; base notes are Musk, Vetiver, Cedar, Oakmoss, Amber and Tonka Bean. I have come to regard him as my favorite craftsman above the likes of kings such as Morillas, Ellena, the Polges, Jean Jacques, Cresp, Wasser and many more on this level. Sadly BLV PH has totally lost its true identity and its more unisex or rather leaning to feminine now.I would leave this one for the office crowd and choose something with more personality, although worth a try if you see it going cheap. The Soir with the solid cap was everything I expected it to be - the original with the cheap cap was barely detectable at all, and what I could smell was the definitive "screechy mess" - dusty, minimally botanical, with no appeal whatsoever.
