Description

Do you ever wonder what a sloth’s regular day must look like? Being the slowest animal in the world, it mustn’t be very exciting, I assume, but it may be quite relaxed. It is said that sloths eat really slowly and only a few times a day, since even their digestive systems are super slow! And before you ask, yes – they poop just as rarely – only once a week! I bet you didn’t think that this list of free crochet sloth patterns would include a puppet! You can make story time more fun for babies and toddlers with the addition of an adorable crochet hand puppet. The design is similar to crochet amigurumi minus the stuffing. It calls for single and half double crochet stitches. Use these beautiful sloth-themed National Simultaneous Storytime 2023 Bookmarks to help your students celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) 2023. Now you might be thinking, well how many sloth patterns could there be? Let me tell you, there was a surprising amount! The patterns I’ve curated for you today are sure to impress you with their variety, and with their cuteness too. The positioning of the eye patches, nose and mouth, then gif your individual sloths it’s own personality!

That’s right, you’ve guessed it! It’s the sloth. Sloths have a really low metabolic rate. They travel 41 yards per day, the equivalent of less than half the length of a football field, at a really slow pace. Usually when people think of sloths they are envisioning the three toed sloth with the classic mask on the eyes and flat face. This realistic and fluffy sloth design is modeled after the Hoffmann’s Two-Toed Sloth (named after the German naturalist Karl Hoffmann). It looks like it’s made with faux fur yarn, but it’s actually just acrylic yarn that has been brushed out.

As you can see the final step was easy… she adapted the designs to make the sloth… and then basically glued some felt onto card to make the bookmark holder.. and then glued the felt sloth and the felt cat too the bookmark. And don’t.

Trace the parts of the sloth bookmark on craft paper of the appropriate color. We’ve chosen brown, but gone with different shades to differentiate between the sloth’s body, eyes and the tree branch. Cut out all the parts. Sloths Mindfulness Colouring Sheet- This gorgeous sloth colouring sheet is just perfect to use as a calming activity at the end of a long day. It has been illustrated by one of our superb Twinkl illustrators, and will make a lovely display on a feature wall.

What’s the laziest animal on the planet?

Our Animal Adaptations Teaching Wiki is also great for explaining how sloths have adapted to their rainforest surroundings. What do you think? Isn’t it adorable? I love that she scurried away to her room and made these all by herself! Yay! It seems like plant ownership has been enjoying a lot of spotlight lately. I see so many creative planters cross my feed – even crochet planters! This smiling sloth planter is just plain adorable. You can make it really easily with just single crochet stitches – it’s similar to how amigurumi is made. I can’t even handle all the cuteness in this post. If you love sloths, or if you know someone who does, then you have to make some of these free crochet sloth patterns! Which patterns caught your eye? Do you know of any other free crochet sloth patterns? Let’s connect in the comments below! I like to think that my Harry Potter patronus is a sloth. They are slow, calm, relaxed, and they don’t even care. They’re like a honey badger, but friendly.
