The main accord of Jungle Homme is a soft woody accord built around cedar and sandalwood. For greater softness, the perfumer added a note of guaiac wood and something white-musky to it, making a fluffy, airy substrate out of solid wood, either fluffy paper, or elastic plastic, or translucent cotton wool. This translucent, airy wood can be used to heal and clothe people, you can build eco-houses from it, it can be put in cosmetic canisters and shaped into clouds of various shapes and forms, not to mention the fact that you can breathe it and relieve urban stress.

Celine Verleure said that their team managed to come up with an idea for the next women's fragrance, Jungle Kenzo, and the third feminine perfume was to be dedicated to the paradise bird. But the perfume was not created, since (due to insufficient sales,) it was decided to stop developing the Jungle collection (the jungle collection did not reach the success of the Kenzo aquatic fragrances - but the next Flower fragrance launched a new “eternal” collection.) This is an excellent flavored white musk and it was released way before the current flavored white musk perfumery fad. It is also a great value for the price, scent- and performance-wise. I adore Kenzo Jungle pour homme. It has not been out of date even by the current standard of the niche-hyped perfumery world. And for a far-eastern male perfume lover like myself, the spirit of the fragrance is quite adjacent to our culture - modest yet with profound contemplation, in the sense of projection and holistic performance as well as the subtle, smooth transition from slightly zesty citrus notes to the half-meadow-half-spicy woody core. Like, not love. It's still early days though, it might grow on me yet.
