After pressing the TEXT button on BBC channels when the internet was connected the system could stop responding to the directional or number buttons until the channel was changed.

As with any Freeview Play device, both boxes will support a long list of streaming apps – BBC iPlayer, All 4, My5, UKTV Play, CBS Catchup Channels UK, Legend, STV Player, POP Player, PBS American and BBC Sounds, along with a YouTube app. The USB port is a bit of a disappointment, as it can only be used for software upgrades. And since software upgrades are easier to do via WiFI or Ethernet, the USB port is all but useless at this point- maybe we’ll get more out of it in the future. When HDMI Control was turned on and the T3-R entered networked standby (sleep), e.g. during overnight housekeeping, problematic TVs that send unnecessary HDMI connect and disconnect notifications could cause the T3-R to wake the TV. Several older Freeview boxes – including the once-popular Humax FVP-5000T, never received ITVX support, and even Manhattan’s own T3 and T3-R don’t have the ITVX app yet (though we’re told it’s coming to those boxes in April). The T3-R could fail to record programmes and state that it was due to no signal even though the signal was ok.

It also includes a range of popular apps, so you can enjoy your internet-based video-on-demand services in the glory of a proper TV screen rather than a computer screen and, of course, at this price point, it supports a Wi-Fi connection. This update introduces support for ITVX, allows for finer adjustment of lip-sync, and resolves issues from v2.04. The following changes are from v1.01(the original launch release). Please note that v1.02 to v1.22 were not released publicly. ResolvedThere’s also a variable lip-sync delay – up to 250 seconds – in case you’re suffering with sync issues because of a soundbar. You should buy it if… The T3 would freeze when playing ‘Law & Crime’ video content in interactive service 271 Channelbox. Catch up with the last 7 days straight from the TV guide (with supported channels & programmes). HDMI cable that supports resolutions up to 4K/60Hz If you want to find specific shows to watch, you can do so via the global search button. You enter the name of a show (or even just a part of the name), and the T3-R searches within all the catch-up apps, and lets you see all the available episodes. When you select an episode, the appropriate app will automatically start with the right episode ready to play.

The T3 would show ‘No Signal’ for channels after performing a Smart Retune if the delivery system of their multiplex had changed. When using an Ethernet connection, occasionally after booting and the last viewed channel was a BBC channel, the BBC Red Button+ service would fail to load until the channel was changed. Your T3 will update automatically overnight whilst in standby, as long as you haven't disabled automatic updates in the System Settings menu. When padding was set to Manual and a recording started, if the Guide information had not yet been retrieved the recording would be saved with only the channel name, date and time the recording started. I agree @Clem_Dye - the T3-R is probably the best PVR I've ever used too. Simple, intuitive, responsive and incredibly quiet. It makes my old Sky Q box sound like it's powered by a diesel engine!
