I do believe the level of trauma before the big reveal implied a larger moment and it felt again like the narrator's image was being protected rather than exploring the trauma that links the assault and the murder. At first when the story went into the past to the time of the war, I wasn’t sure how it would connect with the story of Nancy, who is reeling from the murder of her mother and step dad, but the two stories collided wonderfully and it quickly made sense why we were told about the past and I thought it was really clever.

I found the second part with her step-brother a bit over the top although I had sympathy for Nancy’s feelings of betrayal. The two young girls Maisie and Shirley shared a room and their teacher Stephen Smith had another room. Coming to Find You is brilliantly structured because just when you feel you can’t bear the tension of Nancy’s first person, intimately told, story any longer, there is respite. While Elizabeth, the host of Tall Chimneys during WWII, is trying her best to assist those in need, she finds herself caught up in a chain of secrets that could end her life. The synopsis talks of a murder, a brother convicted of those murders and a woman who flees to escape the press.too, there is a pervading rippling unease throughout both timelines and with plenty of emotion from guilt to fear. Half the book is a World War 2 story in a more rural British area about a woman whose son goes off to war and takes in London evacuees and half the book is contemporary told from the young woman who is moving to her family's home after her stepbrother is imprisoned. For the first 80%, I absolutely love the book, there’s a terrific air of mystery but in my opinion it becomes a bit overly dramatic, especially in the present day, although I may be an outlier here!

But the house has secrets, too, and as Nancy tries to escape the present, the past catches up with her. If you love a good murder, mystery, addictive thriller then get yourself a copy of this now you will not be disappointed. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by how gripping and entertaining they are, and have now read every single one. Jane never ceases to surprise me with the stories she comes up with and Coming To Find You is no exception.

I especially enjoy the emerging dual narrative of the present day with a second world war storyline and I ultimately find that is more compelling than the present day one. Nancy seeks refuge in her family seaside home from the press and public following the murder of her mum and step-father.
